Lens Problem with 2 Camera's! Beware!

Cindy, Amazon
25 June 2014
  • Summary: Both my mother-in-law and I bought this camera based on good reviews. Mine worked fine at first but my mother-in-law's lens would not open all the way. We went back and exchanged hers thinking she just got a bad one. Then about 2 weeks later, I got a "lens error" message when trying to take a picture. Then 5 minutes later the lens opened and zoomed and I couldn't get it closed. Plus the flash pops up in a fuuny spot where my fingers tend to hit it.

Impressive Zoom but Poor Design

Waimun Wong, Amazon
30 May 2014
  • Summary: This would have been a great camera except for the poor flash housing design. The zoom is impressive; steady and sharp. The indoor/low light capability make this camera almost perfect for everything. Would have given this camera five stars except for the the flash constantly popping up even when the camera is off. After two months on one week long trip later, I sent the camera back for warranty repairs.

Big Disappointment

Steve Hoffacker, Amazon
28 May 2014
  • Summary: Bought this camera and immediately returned it. This camera ended a personal 47-year history of continuous Nikon ownership and use. Likely will not have another Nikon. Have moved on. Poor picture quality, focus, and other issues.

Absolute garbage. Ruining my honeymoon pics

chaiguzzler, Amazon
23 April 2014
  • Summary: Bought this new to take on a one month trip to Europe, and while not even a month old with gentle handling, multiple things are malfunctioning with this camera such as when starting, the lens extends and the motor wont shut off, creating a loud ratchet noise. The only way to shut it off is to take out the battery. THEN it also quit charging, or holding the charge, not sure which, but when it has the other problems, it's irrelevant.

User Review

20 April 2014
  • Excerpt: Bought this about two weeks ago and today its going back. Camera frequently locks up, has write errors and I've even had the zoom stuck out. Tried several SD cards all at somepoint had a data write error and then the camera becomes unstable. Needs all the bugs fixing, avoid for now.

Pop up flash is noisy, jarring and surprising

Sandra S. Unger "Camcorder Novice", Amazon
19 April 2014
  • Summary: The pop up flash is wretched, noisy, and worst of all the default is set to flash AUTO. I see no way to set the default flash to OFF. Every time I turn the camera off and back on, it defaults to flash AUTO. If there is no way to change the default to flash OFF, this camera goes back. The flash is also exactly where your finger wants to go for a nice grip of the camera. Nice camera, REALLY WRETCHED pop up flash.

Diese "Knipse" enttäuscht!

Sigi.SR, Amazon
11 April 2014
  • Summary: Bin von Nikon besseres gewohnt ..
