Summary: Love the size of the camera. So light! Perfect for travel. Though more advanced, it's a perfect point and shoot. Not great in low light but use the flashlight app on your cell phone and you'll be good. Love it.
Excerpt: This camera has elevated my pictures to a new high. I use the point and shoot (automatic), zoom ( which is really great for bringing the distant into a nice picture) and the movie functions. A quantum leap above my old Fuji. Purchased on a whim on a Cruise, and shot the best pictures I could hope for during a trip to South America. Sturdy and sits in my pocket nicely. Very quick power up. Battery life is a bit weak when left on.
Excerpt: I bought one of these in November 2014 as replacement for my old Panasonic Lumix TZ10, which has a scratched lens. I'd used the Lumix as my pocketable camera for several years and liked its easy handling and image quality (colours and sharpness). Despite trying the new camera on varied subjects and putting files through different editing packages, I can't get the Coolpix to match the quality I'm used to.
Summary: First Nikon Point and shoot camera and it takes stunning photos. The bells and whistles are way beyond what I expected but knew this before buying, research it. No software cd on the only bummer but you can download from Nikon. This was a factory refurb but it looks and acts new. Quite pleased. Oh, controls are different from other P&S cameras, Kodak, Canon, Olympus so the learning curve will take a bit longer. Very nice 30x zoom capability. Would buy again.
Terrible camera - failed within 2.5 months of purchase.

Summary: Bought this in October 2014 and the view screen failed in early January 2015. Now the camera won't even turn on. Of course, it's beyond the return date. I would rate the image quality as fair, not much better than my old Panasonic Lumix. Albeit, better than my iPhone 5. Occasionally the lens would get "stuck" and wouldn't properly retract. I would remove the battery, wait 20 seconds, re-insert the battery and restart.
Summary: My wife loves this camera. it replaces an older model which just finally stopped working after 5 years. There is a learning curve - of course - but she is no techie and she has managed well. I don't know a lot about the technical qualities of the camera other than to say it does everything she needs simply and effectively.
