Summary: I bought this to replace a powershot Canon. This Nikon has many features that I haven't figured out yet, but give me time. Takes great pictures in the Auto mode, nice and easy. the only thing that i don't like about it is that if you are holding the camera like normal and hit to take the picture and the flash needs to come up, your finger is in the way, move finger, reset to take photo. all in all, i am happy with it. Great ZOOM!!!!
Summary: I have purchased this camera from another vendor. This camera is very fragile. In six months I've sent it back twice because of lens error issues. The battery life when taking flash pictures is very limited and there may be bleeding issues when the camera is on standby. I've been disappointed several times by the battery dying. Also, the macro focus is poor, so if you want to take close-ups this isn't the camera for you.
Summary: The camera met my expectations, with the understanding that I knew it does not have a viewfinder that the flash is flimsy. But the price was very good for a 30x zoom, and I know Nikon makes an excellent product--thus, the viewfinder was considered expendable and I figured I rarely use the flash, anyway!

Summary: Replacement for the 9200. Ok. Took it on vacation within days of arrival and the pictures are great. The night party shots are amazing and daylight clear. Indoor shots, beach shots and flowers at macro setting are also good. When will they make this with 20 mp? I must use another for the higher resolution and give up focal length. Overall, I love these cameras and will use them a lot. Try the panoramic function and be amazed.
Summary: Not too fast in Switching on, takes its time after each photo is taken too. Not a bad camera, but a relatively slow one. Tends to accumulate dust around the lens, which worries me in case some of it would actually manage to enter the camera.
Summary: I am a loyal Nikon customer from way back and find this camera is the high quality that I have come to expect from Nikon. I am dismayed that it is so much bigger than the Coolpix that I bought it to replace and even more dismayed that Nikon doesn't provide a viewfinder - none of the digital cameras have a viewfinder. What is a photographer supposed to do when there is a lot of glare?

Summary: I read many reviews on many cameras and IMO the S9700 was a good choice for a pocketable super zoom with good quality images and a rare combination of WiFi remote control + GPS. I love the ability to manually control the camera and center focus weighting. So many great features and good performance have been reported but I unfortunately cannot provide much experience while using it because I quickly experienced some major issues for me and returned it for refund.
Summary: Great little camera for vacation shots. I took this camera with me on vacation because I was tired of lugging around my huge DSLR. It's easy and fun to use and takes great photos. It is by no means comparable to a DSLR camera but the photos are clear and the colors look great. As usual with point and shoot cameras photos taking in really low light were fussy. Day shots and indoors with flash, or sufficient lighting the results are beautiful!
