Nikon COOLPIX S9600 the Worst Camera I have ever had in my life!

tinkerbellmagic, Amazon
26 May 2015
  • Summary: No wonder Nikon discontinued this camera. The Nikon CoolPix S9600 is the worst camera I have ever owned in my life. Forget about clear pictures. This camera specializes in blurry pictures. If I take 50 pictures of one event, I am lucky if one or two pictures are clear.

... reviews but after seeing the ones here and being amazed by this camera - here goes

Gary Owen "ElevenB Vet", Amazon
18 February 2015
  • Summary: Seldom write reviews but after seeing the ones here and being amazed by this camera - here goes. I have had other brands of Point and Shoot cameras thru the years and have a digital Nikon D-70 SLR. The picture quality and especially video and low light capabilities are amazing.

Best pocket camera ever

RicWei, Amazon
15 November 2014
  • Summary: I actually bought this camera several months ago for $199 brand new, and put an 8 gig memory chip inside ($12). I would call myself an experienced amateur photographer, I have owned many 35mm and 6x6 cameras, but my favorite pocket film camera died and I wanted a digital.

Ernie Ernie, Amazon

  • Summary: Note. Just looked at this at Best Buy 10/21/14 for $249.00. There's does not come with a Flash Card and only one battery and charger. They want you to buy the bundle : case, extra battery and Card for $50. If you opt not to, but want an extra battery they run like $40. Just thought you should know.

Dissapointed

  • Excerpt: I returned the camera. I am back to pulling the SD card to transfer files to my Windows PC. Was this review helpful? |
  • Pros: I did not keep it long enough to form a negative feel for the cameras basic functions. It was better than my Galaxy S5 camera. The zoom was the biggest positive difference, but I found 22x optical zoom still was not enough for me. The menu , and functions were straight forward. The camera was eas...
  • Cons: I purchased this camera mainly for the ease of transferring files through WIFI. I discovered the WIFI was only to a smart device, one picture at a time, and it did not transfer videos. I assume if it did transfer video the storage in the smart device storage would needed to be quite massive. I ha...

Macro not impressive

  • Excerpt: Was this review helpful? |
  • Pros: Didn't care about the general performance of the camera; I was only interested in the macro, so I can't comment on the camera overall.
  • Cons: Thought the macro wasn't sharp enough to warrant keeping.
