Summary: Bought new to take pictures of my kids, but it only takes good outdoor photos in bright light. Every other photo is blurry. unless i can get everyone to sit still for seconds ( we literally count while we pose) also you can't take picture after picture quickly, so if the first shot is blurry, you...
Summary: A fine camera by an excellent brand. A great value for the price. It was easy to get oriented and shooting photos. Downloading pics to my computer is a breeze. The only quirk is that you have to take care not to place your left hand so that it obstructs the pop-up flash.
Nikon COOLPIX S9600 the Worst Camera I have ever had in my life!
26 May 2015
Summary: No wonder Nikon discontinued this camera. The Nikon CoolPix S9600 is the worst camera I have ever owned in my life. Forget about clear pictures. This camera specializes in blurry pictures. If I take 50 pictures of one event, I am lucky if one or two pictures are clear.

Summary: Seldom write reviews but after seeing the ones here and being amazed by this camera - here goes. I have had other brands of Point and Shoot cameras thru the years and have a digital Nikon D-70 SLR. The picture quality and especially video and low light capabilities are amazing.
Summary: Bought it today. Taking it back tomorrow. 1. Couldn't register the camera on the Nikon web site. Website indicated error on data input, but did not say where. 2. The camera comes with a "quickstart" 42 page instruction document.
Summary: I actually bought this camera several months ago for $199 brand new, and put an 8 gig memory chip inside ($12). I would call myself an experienced amateur photographer, I have owned many 35mm and 6x6 cameras, but my favorite pocket film camera died and I wanted a digital.
Summary: Note. Just looked at this at Best Buy 10/21/14 for $249.00. There's does not come with a Flash Card and only one battery and charger. They want you to buy the bundle : case, extra battery and Card for $50. If you opt not to, but want an extra battery they run like $40. Just thought you should know.
Excerpt: Photography is a big love of mine and mostly I use my DSLR to take photos, however it's a pretty heavy old thing and I don't carry it around with me all the time. Sod's law dictates that those 'that would make a great photo' moments usually happen at time when my DSLR is sitting snugly at home.
Pros: Quality of pictures, ease of use, macro, some good effect modes
Cons: Full price a little high, wifi function not as expected, instructions (or lack of)
Summary: The quality of the lcd is very poor . This makes it difficult to judge exactly the quality of the photo taken. Not very happy with it really. The AF works pretty well. but the steady shot on zoom only works well in bright light.
