If you need good close-up work as I do

drq, Amazon
17 January 2015
  • Summary: Bought it today. Taking it back tomorrow. 1. Couldn't register the camera on the Nikon web site. Website indicated error on data input, but did not say where. 2. The camera comes with a "quickstart" 42 page instruction document. You then have to go online to the Nikon website to download the full user manual in PDF. The link is broken and you cannot download the manual. I tried it from 2 separate hard drives. 3. The 22X zoom restricts extreme close-ups.

Best pocket camera ever

RicWei, Amazon
15 November 2014
  • Summary: I actually bought this camera several months ago for $199 brand new, and put an 8 gig memory chip inside ($12). I would call myself an experienced amateur photographer, I have owned many 35mm and 6x6 cameras, but my favorite pocket film camera died and I wanted a digital. I am a Nikon fan, and I looked first at their line. Mostly I chose this camera because of size, price, and lens capability. It has many features I probably won't use.

Just looked at this at Best Buy 10/21/14 for $249

Ernie Ernie, Amazon
2 November 2014
  • Summary: Note. Just looked at this at Best Buy 10/21/14 for $249.00. There's does not come with a Flash Card and only one battery and charger. They want you to buy the bundle : case, extra battery and Card for $50. If you opt not to, but want an extra battery they run like $40. Just thought you should know. Camera has a lot of neat features but when I looked closely the buttons looked cheaply made and the camera itself didn't have a lot of ruggedness to it that I like.

A fast and responsive point and shoot that's ready when you are!

ClassicDigital, Nikon

  • Summary: I made another review of my Coolpix P340 a couple months ago. I still use that camera all the time and I'm still very happy with its performance. But one thing about the P340 is limiting. That's its zoom range. Its the trade off you have to expect for having a very fast f1.8 max aperture at 24mm. However the overall image quality and feature set of the P340 more then make up for that. Now on to my review of the Coolpix S9600.

  • Summary: I purchased Nikon Coolpix S9600 Point & Shoot Camera it worked good but some manufacturing defect is there in the product. However Flipkart is arranging refund, but would like to mention here that product is very good in use, good quality of pics easy to handle. I will rate this product more than 5 stars. It is good for personal use for family picnic, party tour etc.

Wi-Fi Camera that does not operate with Wi-fi as advertised.

Christopher Burton, Amazon
26 January 2015
  • Summary: Smart looking camera. Controls work well and picture quality is acceptable for a low-end point and shoot. Main gripe is : the wi-fi does not work in any way that can be deciphered by your average man on the Clapham Omnibus. The handbook does not help either. The camera does not detect a router or ask for the router code for a start. So without this step, it is just a mute camera that requires hard wiring into your pc to upload your pictures.

Snapping Happy

misspurpl..., Ciao
25 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Photography is a big love of mine and mostly I use my DSLR to take photos, however it's a pretty heavy old thing and I don't carry it around with me all the time. Sod's law dictates that those 'that would make a great photo' moments usually happen at time when my DSLR is sitting snugly at home. This is the reason I went looking for a good quality, small compact so that I could pop it in my bag and still get reasonable shots.
  • Pros: Quality of pictures, ease of use, macro, some good effect modes
  • Cons: Full price a little high, wifi function not as expected, instructions (or lack of)

No wireless....!!

J. J. Powell, Amazon
20 January 2015
  • Summary: I've only had this camera for a couple of days so its too early for a proper review. But my first impressions are that is does everything pretty well. It feels well made and slips into your pocket easily enough. Close up work is easy and it focuses really close to an object. They only gripe I have so far, and this is the reason for writing now, is the wireless option on this phone.
