Summary: This camera occasionally looses all settings. You will need to constantly check if the GPS is on if you want this feature. Back from a trip only to discover 800+ photos with no GPS data. Even an iPhone records the GPS location without problem! The main reason I bought this camera is because of the GPS. Additionally there is no way to turn the flash off permanently, it keeps comming back on--other than museum mode.
Nikon Coolpix S9500 - Terrible Camera - Amazon Verified Purchase
10 June 2014
Summary: I am a heavy camera user. I purchased the Nikon Coolpix S9500 through Amazon in June 2013. I loved my Nikon F in the 1970's. I have owned other Nikons, Sonys and the Canon Powershot 850IS. The Canon (the point & shoot camera I had before this Nikon) is better than this new Nikon. The camera has difficulty focusing no matter which setting I use for macro shots or close-up shots. It does not do well in low light despite using high iso.
broke after a month - never really worked that well
25 January 2014
Summary: I have an older version and thought it was time for an upgrade. I should have followed the rule of if aint broke don't fix it. Anyway after two weeks the battery would not charge so had to return it.
Summary: First of all, a big thanks to Amazon for selling this for $50 more than Best buy and then not allowing returns for this junk Nikon calls a camera. Flimsy construction and terrible controls. The flash pops up whenever it feels like it, and it is positioned terribly. More often than not your hand or finger will be over it when you actually intend to use it. I only had it for about two months before the OLED screen completely failed rendering the camera totally useless.
Summary: For the price that I paid it should take photos with no exposure problems. I get about 10%of my indoor photos washed out with the flash and I had a system crash (not turning off, not turning on, etc.) I sent it in for repair... they said several parts were replaced and I STILL have the same exposure problem (it seems even worse now). The camera did this with auto and fill flash. I also use an 'approved' SD card. I would NOT recommend this at all.
