Summary: Purchased 2 cameras for youth to use in a photography class. Took good pictures for a point and shoot, battery life is adequate. Flash is a little harsh but similar to point and shoots. Takes great picks when flash not needed.
"Worked well in its 22 months of life-but not perfect."

Pros: Easy to use and light and when working right, clear pictures. Fast on and easy picture transfer
Cons: Several problems. A lens problem which resulted on a large spot like a thumbprint. Auto focus became inconsistent. USB connector unique size hard to find. When I had to send in for warranty repairs, was slow. And first time I dropped it, it died
Summary: I bought this to upgrade from a digital camera I bought several years ago. I got it just in time for my visit with family on Thanksgiving. I am very pleased with the quality of the pictures it takes. I did read other reviews before purchasing. The location of the flash has not been an issue for me so far I just hold the camera in a way that my finger doesn't cover it.
Summary: the pictures are sharp and i like using this camera with all it's settings. i do however need to always remember where the flash pops up from. It's placement (top left hand corner) is where most would automatically hold a small camera and the shot is usually wasted if you forget.
Excerpt: I wanted a 'simple, light, unexpensive, jack-of-all-trades' camera for casual shooting, and not worrying too much about damages or theft. From the first shots, I was amazed by the results - consistent high quality. this Nikon has all it takes to take good photos in program mode. The results are sharp, well exposed, with good colors. I didn't find any weaknesses.
Excerpt: I can’t exactly take a picture and then take another picture almost immediately after. This is a bit of a pain and inconvenience, but won’t affect me very much. It would be nice if this camera can actually do that. Also, I find that the flash isn’t very useful when in need. In a low dim room, the flash only lights up the center mainly. Also, it doesn’t make the pictures appear any brighter so it is still hard to make out the picture in a dark room.
