Summary: Camera broke within 3 years. Our family has always taken good care of this camera and one day I tried to turn it off and the lens wouldn't retract. After that all I would get was lens error and Nikon would not replace it. Would definitely go with a Canon next time.
Summary: After extensive reviews research, I purchased what I thought would be the ideal camera for me. It worked well in the beginning, but after the one-year warranty (of course) it began to have issues. The menu button worked only occasionally.
Summary: This camera seemed like a good purchase until the lens cover stopped opening/closing and the camera was inoperable. I got it fixed - covered by warranty as it was only 6 months old. It worked for about 2 outings and then the same thing happened.
Summary: I have read all the reviews of cameras in this category on Amazon and others like CNET and Digital Photography review to name a couple. I even tried many at the stores. Previously I owned a Canon, and I liked it, but thought I'd look at the competition.
Excerpt: I recently bought the S8200 and wanted to share some first impressions. So far, I only took pictures on dim winter days and indoor, thus I cannot give a substantiated assessment of image quality.
Summary: I purchased the S8200 as a Christmas gift to myself intending to use it during the Christmas holidays. I found the picture quality, ease of operation, video quality and sound quality all to be very satisfactory for a simple point and shoot camera at that price point.
Summary: Camera was good at first but failed on me during a holiday leaving me with loads of out of focus photos. Would think very hard about buying Nikon again, I have had 3 excellent Olympus cameras that lasted many years each with good service.
Summary: The picture qualities were ok but I did not like the design, the feel, the size and the sound it made when the button was pressed. I returned the item. The service of Amazon was great and I received the refund very quickly without any problems at all. Thank you.
