is best stored in a very clean and slightly oversized case

Summary: This is, in some ways, an imperfect camera. It won't last forever, is best stored in a very clean and slightly oversized case, and care should be taken to not touch or allow the zoom casing to be touched by anything.
Summary: As advertised, no complaints. As with all cameras, a little practice is needed going through the menu, and testing/experimenting with the settings to get an understanding of how the settings affect the overall look of the picture. Pictures are better than that of a camera phone.
Excellent...but....don't scratch the lens and "lens error" message

Summary: I have two of this beauties - a gold one for about 6 years and when the glass lens became scratched due to the lens iris dragging a piece of grit over the lens as it closed..... while having it repaired I bought a red S8100..The Red I've had for about 4 years. I've taken 1000's of photos with them.
