The Nikon CoolPix S8000 is a 14.2 million megapixel digital camera that is powered by a 1/2.3-in. CCD image sensor and supported by a 10x zoom NIKKOR lens with 5.4-54.0 mm focal range, f/3.5-5.6 aperture range, up to 2x digital zoom, a 3.0-inch (921k-dot) TFT LCD display with anti-reflection coating, a 32 MB internal memory with SD memory cards support, and up to 3200 ISO sensitivity. The Nikon CoolPix S8000 is powered by rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL12 (supplied), Charging AC Adapter EH-68P/EH-68P (AR) (supplied), AC Adapter EH-62F (optional), Battery Charger MH-65 (optional). A full charge of its battery provides users with up to 210 shots. The Nikon CoolPix S8000 measures 103.0 x 57.0 x 27.3 mm (4.1 x 2.3 x 1.1 in.) and weighs 183 g (6.5 oz.) with battery and SD memory card.

The Nikon CoolPix S8000 is a 14.2 effective megapixels for high-resolution images powered by a 10x zoom NIKKOR lens. The camera features a 3.0 inch 921k-dot TFT LCD that allows users to compose their shots as well as share or preview them with friends and family. The camera also features Scene Auto Selector which provides quick picture-taking in a variety of situations, creative slider that allows users to adjust brightness, vividness and hue of images in-camera; and a design with a curve around the lens and rubber coating on the grip for a firm and steady hold. Powered by rechargeable lithium ion batteries, the Nikon CoolPix S8000 features four image stabilization features such as lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function which compensate blurry images with an increase in shutter speed of roughly three stops; ISO 1600 with automatic ISO sensitivity adjustment and ISO 3200 with manual ISO sensitivity specification; flash control with high-sensitivity sync that allows users to shoot under dim lighting by increasing ISO sensitivity instead of opting for slower shutter speeds; wide-area automatic backlighting compensation and Motion Detection mode which provides users with sharp, steady results. Other features include Smart Portrait System which includes Face-priority AF, Smart Portrait Mode, Blink Warning and In-Camera Red-Eye Fix; subject tracking which automatically tracks subjects to maintain focus, recognizing human faces and then initiating subject tracking to follow the movement of the recognized subject and high-definition movie recording. The COOLPIX S8000 will be available in four colors: black, champagne silver, red and brown.
