Summary: This was a replacement for my Coolpix S6300. The S6300 still works great, but the little silver cap on the shutter popped off somewhere in the house and I could not find it. That didn't stop it from taking great pix, but I had to depress the shutter with a fingernail on the exact shutter pin on top. A bit awkward. So, I simply figured, "just upgrade" & give this one to Goodwill. Maybe they can find a cap for it.
Summary: This is an fine little camera. The more familiar I become with it's operation the better I like it.It's loaded with features and the picture quality is excellent when used properly.I find it simple to operate and to obtain quality results. I am quite pleased with this camera and would recommend it to anyone needing a camera in this price range.
Summary: I wanted a simple to use camera that gave me clear pictures without too much "fiddling" and video. The pictures are great - I am not very adept at centering and focusing and this does it for me - the pictures are seldom out of focus. I love the zoom feature and use it a lot for close ups of birds and faces. I like the video feature, but miss having sound.
My Nikon Coolpix 6500s was priced well, and is loaded with features.

Summary: Once you learn the different features and how to operate the camera, it takes beautiful pictures and is real compact handy for moving shots of a ferry, plane or auto. I used it on a trip to NY and got great shots of ground zero, statue of liberty, times square, rockafellow building, radio city hall, central park and many more places, with good reults and still had plenty of room for more shot in the SD card for more.
