Summary: I bought a camera with WIFI just ASSUMING I could use WIFI to upload my pictures to my PC/Mac. No more cables and microscopic connectors. Stupid me; I should have read the fine print. It can only interface with cellphones for remote control and such.
Summary: Bought it from Costco .. used it just a few times and then didn't use it for a few months; Charged it before going on a trip and on the first try to power on, it failed to turn on. Tried resetting the battery and the sd card but that didn't help. Bought a S6800 which uses the same battery and put the S6500 battery in the S6800 and the S6800 turns on and shows full charge. So I know it's not the battery.
Excerpt: I purchased this camera as a wedding present for my new wife. We took this on our honeymoon and was really pleased with it. It takes very nice pictures and the functions are easy to navigate. One thing that is annoying is the start-up time. When the camera turns on, it takes approx 3 secs for the camera to actually be ready to take a picture. I would really like to be able to take photos in RAW, but this camera does not have it.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Small / Compact
Cons: Lag / Shutter Delay, No Viewfinder, Short Battery Life
Summary: This was a replacement for my Coolpix S6300. The S6300 still works great, but the little silver cap on the shutter popped off somewhere in the house and I could not find it. That didn't stop it from taking great pix, but I had to depress the shutter with a fingernail on the exact shutter pin on top. A bit awkward. So, I simply figured, "just upgrade" & give this one to Goodwill. Maybe they can find a cap for it.
