Summary: The camera was fine and worked okay. Here are some of the things I did not like that caused me to return it. In the spirit of full disclosure, I currently use a Canon Elph similar to this and so the basis of my comments could be by my trying to compare the two cameras. I also have a full blown Nikon DSLR but wanted this for the size and convenience. I think I will stick with the Canon Elph. I do not like the Nikon Coolpix because 1.

Summary: I bought this camera last month, and started using it May 16th. Ten days later I noticed it was damaged on the sides surrounding the lens, so I took it to Repair services in the US. They all told me that the repair would cost me over USD 160, and to get that fault, I should have stamped the camera very strongly into a rough surface, which I obviously didn't, and I did not drop the camera either (I always used it with a case so it was certainly protected.
Summary: Perhaps after I have learned to use every feature the rating will go up. The manual is not very good at instructing you how to use most of the features. Was disappointed in the wifi feature. Useful only if you have one of the new phones which has access to internet, otherwise carry your ipad with you.
Summary: The camera is very pretty. good size. Fairly easy to learn to use. The biggest problem I have with it is that it is very very slow to process in between shots. That has caused some problems cause you can't take multiple shots.
Summary: The information and specifications shown on Amazon for this camera are lacking. I assumed the camera would come with an external charger for the camera battery (standard with many other Nikon cameras but not mentioned in the description) however that was not the case. The camera does come with a charger however you have to charge the battery while it is in the camera and the charging cord plugs directly into the camera.
Summary: I purchased the red S6400 when it was offered during the Black Friday Deals week. I was primarily looking for a sleek camera that takes sharp pictures. The touch screen is a very handy addition. My husband is a serious enthusiast and owns a Canon 5D Mark II. To be realistic, this camera doesn't even come close to his Canon DSLR. That being said, it takes decent pictures. There is a fair amount of noise in low light shots.
Nice camera, at a good price but battery short lasting can be annoying.

Summary: The overall quality is good, even if despite of the megapixel I can't see a big difference with my legacy old Canon. It confirmed me that in the compact/home sector Nikon is still some steps behind. The zoom feature is amazing, 12x on a so compact size devices is impressive but the battery has not been engineered big enough for it. It comes with a 700 mAH chargeable battery that often doesn't last enough to reach the end of the day.
Summary: I purchased this cam 2 weeks ago and since then i am testing all it's features. Let me clarify, I am no Professional when it comes to shooting, so I took a little extra time and effort to get used to it's features. Pros: 1. The optical zoom is awesome. 2. the vibration reduction feature is really helpful 3. picture quality is excellent 4. Easy panorama is fascinating. 5. very Sleek model 6. has a voice memo feature Cons.: 1.
