Bad purchase; especially in lowlight, with movement
2 December 2013
Summary: Waited an entire year of using this camera before I posted a review. This camera is awful, especially in low light or with any movement (ie. taking pictures of children). Most pics are blurry and despite having a professional play around with the settings, couldn't get the camera to function well. DO NOT BUY! I am going back to Canon.
Summary: Nikon Coolpix s6300.. Actually I have purchased three in the last year. I did drop the first one but not the others. "Service" claimed that was the problem. I have a spare charger and batteries to guard against the short life. Nikon has been the highest quality camera for me - back to F1 - so these poor excuses of camera are a great disappointment. The telephoto has stopped working, and I usually just live with it when the results are poor.
Summary: I purchased this camera for our trip to Europe. I also purchased the hard case to protect it. We wanted a small camera that would easily fit in my purse or around our neck. The first day, it worked great, and the picture quality was excellent. On the 2nd day, the battery died within just a few hours into our sightseeing day, and the shutter lens became stuck in the open position. I carefully put it in my purse until we returned back to our room.
Summary: Initially I was impressed with this camera. I took it on an African safari and it did surprisingly well when compared to the far more expensive SLR cameras. But half-way through the safari, the camera simply refused to turn on.
Summary: I bought this as a second camera as there are times when it's not convenient to carry my large DSLR. I have been very disappointed in the quality of the pictures. The pictures are grainy and don't have the sharpness I demand from my shots. I expected much more from Nikon and especially after doing so much research prior to the purchase of the camera.
Summary: This camara takes terrible photos. they are fuzzy and blurry and I am not that unsteady. I thought it was possibly the settings and after doing much research, there is nothing to do to correct it. It freezes up if you take too many photos in a limited time frame. It is not user friendly at all.
Summary: Nikon does not support their own products. I received a Nikon as a gift a few days ago. The box was factory sealed and yet the LCD screen was broken. Nikon's response: sorry we do not exchange any item for any reason!
Summary: I ordered a new one in red and got a a blue one in a box with the red camera on it. Upon further inspection I noticed that the screen had fingerprints on it, it was missing the camera strap and all the accessories were opened. I was very disappointed because it was obviously used even though i ordered a NEW one. Amazon agreed to replace it right away we'll see if it happens. But so far I'm NOT impressed. I will right another review when I finally get the camera.
