Summary: Briefly I like the camera and all its functions except for one, the battery. With this particular camera you always have to remember to charge it and if you are out having fun taking pictures and the battery dies you had better purchased one of Nikon's back up batteries.
Can't take pictures of anything purple - good camera otherwise

Summary: This is a good little camera for quick trips to family outings or sites where you don't want to lugg a big camera along. The main problem I have with this camera is it doesn't pick up purple hues and captures them as blue.

Summary: The Nikon Coolpix S-630 , takes great outdoor Portrait or Landscape pictures On the other hand ; having much difficulty getting a good quality indoor picture under almost any lighting situation... flash or no flash in these situations the pics.
Summary: Very easy to use and great zoom potential and transfer abilities. It works best when you tilt the picture to give it an artsy flair. It doesn't focus very quickly and consequently I miss some shots and some shots come out blurry. That is my only criticism.
Summary: Not too happy with the quality of photo's. The "demo" photo that was posted with the camera does not resemble the quality this camera really takes. Frankly, I'm not sure what camera shot the "little girls in a ball-cage"; but it had to be something with 15X plus pixel ratio.
Summary: For me, the real selling points of this camera were: its size, its outstanding zoom range, and the fact that it is a Nikon. The camera is an ideal size, and conforms well to the hands when shooting.
Excerpt: I have had 6 or 7 Nikon cameras, including my D200. The S630 is without a doubt the worst Nikon I have ever used. The picture quality is terrible for most shots. I took the camera on a trip to New Orleans, shot maybe 250-300 pictures over the week-end, and have probably dumped all but 20-30...
Summary: I bought this to replace my wifes old sony 1.3 mp digi. camera. as you can imagine, the image quality from that was very out of date. Now i also have to say that I have a Nikon D70 that i have had for years now and maybe thats why i really wasn't impressed with this S630. 1st impression...
Excerpt: small & black, sleek & stylish, lovely curves, easy to use... very sexy camera baby, yeah! HOWEVER, it shoots rather mediocre pictures. my webcam has taken better shots than this S630. i was quite let down actually, especially considering it's a Nikon.
