Summary: Some products last and last but this camera would no longer work after only one year and it was too late for the warranty. I barely used it and am greatly disappointed that it quit working in such a short time especially since I paid about $130. I will not likely buy a Nikon again. I have a much older Cannon camera which I have dropped a few times etc and it still works after years of travel and picture taking. Should have went with a brand I already trusted.
Summary: This camera was OK when first purchased, but to take a picture of a moving toddler, forget it. Pictures inside are also not of the best quality. In less than a year the rechargeable battery no longer fully charges. A disappointing purchase.
Summary: Bought it, used it. takes good pictures in bright light. poor detection in low light with autofocus producing poor results. Automatic lens cover is junk. Began sticking. Nikon refused to repair under warranty 10 days after warranty expired. Camera actually ceased functioning while still under warranty. I owned a D40 previously and was preparing to buy a D3100. I will now buy Canon instead. Basically they built a crappy quality camera and don't stand behind it.
2 broke already with lens errors, 1 still standing

Summary: So I have bought a total of 3 of these now, and might buy a 4th because I have extra batteries. 1 was already returned within 2 weeks because of a lens errror. The lens is fully extended and will not retract and turning the camera off on worked a few times then nothing. I sent the broken one back and got a replacement.
Summary: My family bought this camera for me as a gift prior to our family vacation based upon the rave reviews. I loved the display, ease of use, and compact size, but I am not impressed with its performance. The camera takes fairly decent photos if your subjects are in good lighting and are perfectly still, but if there is movement of any kind, the pictures often come out with ghost-like blurring.
Summary: The only reason it has 2 stars is because it used to work! This camera is less then 4 months old and Im already having a malfunction with the lens!!! I have a very important even tonight and this camera was needed! Very let down by this product that wasn't CHEAP!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! Hopefully I can still return it!
Summary: We have a Sony DSC-W100 and after vacationing with some friends decided we need a new camera. The Sony had some REALLY bad shutter lag, therefore causing us to miss shots. After using a friends Kodak, i realized that my 7 year old camera was not cutting it. I spent weeks deciding what P&S camera to buy. The catch is I didn't want to spend over $200. I have a Nikon DSLR so naturally i looked at Nikons first.
Summary: I've owned this camera for 3-months and waited until now to write a review because it was a gift and I really wanted to like this camera. But the more I've used it the less I like it. To be fair, it can take a descent picture under optimal conditions if you are careful, but so can a 1968 Kodak Brownie in the right hands. I really expected more from Nikon and modern electronic technology. Let me give you a little more background...
Summary: I am a photographer. I've used many DSLR cameras and still use one on a regular basis. I wanted a small, quick point-and-shoot camera to use for fun purposes, like parties, road trips, etc. Something that I could shove in my pocket and take a quick snapshot. Having used a Nikon DSLR for years, I came to expect a lot from the brand. But after playing with this camera, I'm pretty disappointed. The biggest problem I have with it is the touch screen.
