Summary: I purchased a new Nikon Coolpix S6000 camera from Walmart about 2-3 years ago. My wife and I used it infrequently, usually when travelling. It was never dropped, submerged, or otherwise abused. Recently the lens cover wouldn't open completely when it was turned on. I called Nikon Support and was told I'd need to send it in for repair which would cost between $56 and $117. With postage, I'm approaching the cost of another (not Nikon) camera.
Summary: For a carry around camera this one can't be beat. Easy to use, easy to download and the photos while not professional quality are good enough for the family photo album, website, or research subjects.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend buying one new if a used seller claims Good or Very Good condition (my good luck?) this is a stop-gap purchase for me Until I can afford a GPS cam. I've taken worthwhile vids of close-up action that others appreciated, that was fun!
Summary: Some products last and last but this camera would no longer work after only one year and it was too late for the warranty. I barely used it and am greatly disappointed that it quit working in such a short time especially since I paid about $130. I will not likely buy a Nikon again. I have a much older Cannon camera which I have dropped a few times etc and it still works after years of travel and picture taking. Should have went with a brand I already trusted.
Summary: I had a camera just like this one and , after quite a few years of using it, it quit working. I really like how user-friendly this camera is so I bought another one exactly the same as my first one. Love it!
Summary: This camera did not come with the original charger and I have not been able to find a charger for it so I have not used it. I was very unhappy with this purchase. I bought it for Comic Con 2013 and did not use it at all.
