Do not buy this camera, it will fail in 6 months...

Excerpt: This S60 Cool pix camera was a Xmas present. While on vacation in Europe in July, the lens would not open or close, "lens failure". Sent it to Nikon under warranty, and after 8 weeks of arguing they have refused to repair as it has a scratch on it ... $100 repair fee or they won't return it. Nikon customer service is in the Dominican Republic and they lost my repair order number, my dispute case several times, computers crashed and you have to wait forever on hold. Not...
Summary: Purchased camera in Jan 2009. Stops working less than a month later. Nikon repairs camera but sends back a totally different camera that looked like it had be thrown from a moving car. They actually mailed my camera to someone else. It took several months and many follow up calls to get them to send back at least a refurb. That replacement also stopped working a couple of months later. Sent it back for warranty repair. This time it was repaired and returned to me.
Summary: This camera takes aweful pictures. The touch screen in under developed and not that advanced! Do not fall for the advertisements on the television this camera sucks!! The only good thing about it is that it fits into any pocket.
Summary: I purchased this camera for the holidays and sad to say I had better pictures with my cell phone... I returned it back to the store. The camera has a nice campaign with Ashton...the camera also looks neat with being all touch screen but at the end the camera doesn't do what it suppose to do... take good pictures!!!
Summary: In the U.S., Nikon is certainly marketing its point and shoot cameras better than Canon or Sony. The Nikon team uses a simple formula to win market share: Pay young, good looking actors and actresses to promote flashy, novel products. This was the case with the Coolpix S60 - a touch screen, in camera editing, a high megapixel count, Ashton.... But the "good stuff ends there." I purchased the camera for a friend one year ago against my better judgement.
Lousy camera. Touchscreen is a gimmick. Do Not Buy.

Summary: I am somewhat of an amateur photography buff and so I know what I'm talking about when I say do not buy this camera. My girlfriend received it as a gift. While it takes barely acceptable landscape pictures in broad daylight, every other lighting condition produces pure trash. The digital grain makes this this camera not terrible, but unusable. 10 Megapixels? BULL.
Summary: Do not buy this camera. It broke after I used it TWICE, taking a total of about 10 pictures with it. I purchased it for a trip around the US for my 40th birthday to celebrate with good friends, after which I was leaving the country for 8 months. Thanks to Nikon (who refused to just send me a new camera ASAP, which would have been the decent thing to do) and this camera (which is absolutely useless to me less than 2 weeks after purchasing) I have no pictures to show of...
