Summary: Pure point-and-shoot operation is easy with the Nikon Coolpix S60 and results in well-exposed images with natural colors and a reasonable amount of details. That being said, the camera's weak high-ISO performance and slow focus system makes in unsuitable for indoor photography, particularly of moving subjects. This is a problem more prominent of ultra-compacts but there are much better performers under those conditions.
Pros: Good automatic white-balance performance, Natural image colors, Good overall exposure based on focus-point, Short shutter-lag, Quick zoom, playback and power-off times, Excellent LCD visibility when not smudged, Good build quality
Cons: Below average image stabilization, Noise at all ISO settings, Strong softness at ISO 400 and 800, Useless ISO 1600 and up, High optical distortion at both ends of zoom, Terribly inneficient and unresponsive interface, Dificult to hold securely, Poor lens placement, Very short battery life, Poor lens placement
