Summary: It's a nice little camera. Works nice for it's purpose. Takes great pictures with good light. Not so good pictures when not enough light. I like to take macro pictures with it. I have both pretty the same Nikon and Canon. I like the pictures of the Nikon one better. But one inconvenience with this one - it turns on very slowly (comparing to Canon) so if you're watching something potentially interesting to take picture of, you need to have this camera on all the time.
Summary: I went through 5 of these before I got one that didn't quit on me. If I hooked it up to my computer and forgot to power down when I was done the battery would go dead and it would not power back up. I had this problem 4 times in a row. Finally I got a good one. It is great. The only drawback is that when you plug it into your computer it doesn't charge. I bought a spare, aftermarket battery and I have plenty of juice to do whatever I want now.
Summary: To address some of the issues other reviewers have had: If your saving to the memory card is slow, get a better class memory card. The class of the memory card impacts how quickly it will save, and bargain bin memory cards aren't going to work as well as better ones. On my first set of test shots, only one picture took the dreaded 5-6 seconds to save, and it was way over-exposed with flash. The LCD screen on it is a joke.
Summary: Would have a 5 star review, however a couple of the pixels on the lcd display show as just red dots .... not effecting the picture in anyway, but slightly irritating to look at. Pictures are flawless in virtually all conditions... focus is a bit delayed when taking action shots but you get used to it.
Summary: This camara I buy it for my mom, it's almost a year old and works good, this camera is great for kids and old people just point and shoot, nothing complicate to use, came with a lots of scene, the macro mode works fine nothing great but do the job. It's resistant to falls, (2 falls and everything work ok). it's small, portable, use of battery=good like 250 shoots. In few words works fine, like a say in the beginning is great for kids and old people.
Summary: The COOLPIX S570 is available in pink, red, blue, black and silver. The front of the camera is finished in a metallic lacquer and looks quite stylish with it's rounded corners and polished lens bezel. But this is a camera of two halves and the rear portion, finished in matt black plastic, isn't nearly so attractive. The COOLPIX S570 is quite light and sufficiently compact to carry around in you pocket.
