Summary: I bought the s560 in August and have loved it until recently. I bought it specifically for a trip I was taking out west. I had an older coolpix that I really liked for its ease of use and picture quality, so Nikon was an easy choice.
Excerpt: I bought this camera after previously owning a Panasonic Lumix FS5. Initial impressions were very good. the camera is small, looks good and is well constructed. Unfortunately when the camera is used things go downhill rapidly. In the Auto scene mode the camera selects the wrong mode 90% of the time.
Excerpt: Good ease of use, and I like the wider-angle lens. But...NOISY!!! And with jpeg artifacts that are difficult to correct. The noise at anything over iso100 is totally unacceptable; certainly not worthy of a Nikon product in this price range. Back to Canon for me. Problems: Noise and artifacts
Excerpt: As a professional photographer who is used to using top of the range DSLR cameras, I often worry that I will be a little harsh on simple point and shoot cameras when asked to give my opinion on them.
Pros: Looks good, durable and a good range of user interactive settings .
Cons: Not the most vivid of colour capture and a few other problems (see review) .
Summary: I have been looking for a compact for some while, having a large digital SLR that is much too large to go into a handbag! Most of the reviews I read gave the Nikon high marks, which was very helpful, as I did research this carefully for the best one for me.
