horrible

Stacy Grossman, Amazon
5 April 2013
  • Summary: I received this camera as a gift. Should be zero stars. It burns through batteries, but the worst thing by far is that most of the pictures I take are blurry, even with the vibration reduction setting on. I have to take 20 or more pictures of the same thing and hope that I might have one or two that are usable. I have lost images of special memories because they were ruined. Worse than frustrating!

Not a typical Nikon camera

NeoNeo, Amazon
9 June 2012
  • Summary: Wow, what an embarrassment. I got tricked with overall rating of the product, but after using it I can confidently say that this is not a typical Nikon camera. Pic quality is awful especially in low light/nights. Took this camera as a gift and the person never used it!

Horrendous Photos

Charlie J. Trainer, Amazon
23 January 2012
  • Summary: Agree with much written here. This is the worst camera I have ever owned! I bought this to replace a very very good Canon camera that I accidently left on a plane. Low light night time photos with flash are either a total blur or so super lit everyone looks like ghosts I've tried changing the settings; using no flash, night flash, EVERYTHING to no avail! Do NOT buy this camera!!! Saving for another Canon right now!

Poor Quality

Brian, Amazon
19 September 2011
  • Summary: Quality is lacking with the battery door. The latch broke on one side of the battery door within a couple months. Now both tiny plastic latches are broken. I would not recommend based upon this problem alone.

  • Excerpt: I expected good things from a Nikon Branded camera, however i was dissapointed. Firstly the good things. The lens is excellent, good sharpness, and 5x zoom The camera is small and good looking. Takes ok outdoor shots, as long as there isn't too much sun/shadow contast. Now for the bad things. Suffers from terrible image noise over 200 ISO, this basically means that all indoor shots will be grainy, as it you use under 400 ISO shots come out too dark.

Poor picture quality

Amazon Customer, Amazon
19 December 2010
  • Summary: I've had this camera for a year now and I've just been disapointed in it. I kept waiting for it to improve. The ease of buttons and everything is great, nice and compact, has pretty decent features, but the picture quality is very poor, and really - what good are decent features if the end result is poor? More often than not the pics are fuzzy, poor image stabilization, and poorly lit. Also the picture turn around time is so slow.

lens problems

Emily L. Uphaus "emme", Amazon
18 June 2010
  • Summary: I had my camera around 8 months when the lens started to have problems. If you do a search this is a common theme among the smaller Nikon cameras. I have to send my camera back to Nikon, but will plan on purchasing a new Cannon as soon as i can.

Photography Review
6 January 2010
  • Summary: Camera lasted about 4.5 months then broke down. I took it back to the retailer who sent it on to Nikon. Nikon said it had been dropped and wanted $160 to repair. I tried to deal with them and get them to honor their 2 yr warranty but to no avail. Finally went back to London Drug who refunded the cost and bought a new Pentax W80 waterproof which is a much better camera!
  • Pros: Compact
  • Cons: Nikon does not honor warranty!
