Summary: The second time in less than 2 years this piece of feces is on the fritz. The first time just as my daughter was going to blow out the candles on her 1st year birthday party, this time when loaded with pictures that I would like to send to my friends. As they would say in Bay Ridge, vaffanculo!
Summary: Total piece of junk , in less than 2 months time it will not work and keeps giving "lens error " . I now see this is a very common issue with this model and must be a design flaw . No more Nikons for me , sticking to Canon or even my 10 yr old Kodak that was built to last. DON'T BUY a NIKON.
Summary: Camera just stopped working. It is less than a year old. Google it and you will see this happens to a lot of people. Do not buy this junk. Also, it never really took great pictures. Throwing it in the trash and getting a better camera and not this brand either.
Summary: Worked well for about 3 months and then died. Service is a big issue with the Coolpix; very limited facilities for repair. If you're going to buy a lower-priced digital camera - and, yes, many of them seem to have issues - you should buy one you know you can have serviced in an area local to you. Think our best option will be to save up and buy a more reliable camera next time - in the $400 range they seem to have much better durability.
Has worked great until the last few months I went to turn ...

Summary: Was given this camera as a give 2 Christmas' ago. Has worked great until the last few months I went to turn it on and it did nothing. Thought maybe the battery died so I tried to charge it. Nothing happened - no light, no activity. Unfortunately the warranty is up on my camera (1 year from purchase) and in order to even get it looked at I have to send it in and they will look at than decide what to charge me... Can be anywhere between $56-100.
