Summary: This camera was sold to me as "new" condition with one year warranty. 6 months later the camera broke, so I sent it into the Nikon Repair center and was promptly informed that the camera was refurbished and the warranty was only 90 days, so guess what, not covered.
Summary: I am an amateur photographer and have used my Rebel TI and Digital Rebel for several years. I was looking for a small camera not to replace my Rebels, but to supplement them - something that I could fit in my purse and carry with me. The expert at Wolf Camera sold me the Nikon Coolpix S52 because they were out of the two cameras that I had researched and he said it was exactly what I was looking for - a small, lightweight, good quality camera that was better at high ISO...
Summary: I have used more than dozen digital cameras in the last several years and this is the worst one in terms of dying in less then 6 weeks with "lens cover error" when it worked for the first two days it worked like a charm, very nice and big LCD display, it's a nice point and shoot camera, but I never expected this one to die on the 3rd day of use. I am a big fan of Nikon (I have Nikon D60) this one really disappointed me very much.
Summary: I ordered the camera, it arrived in very good time. I opened the box, followed directions, charged the battery, inserted it...took 2 pictures with it. Turned it off, and tried turning it back on again, and got an ERROR that the lens cover would not open. After spending 20 minutes on technical support hotline...they gave me troubleshooting tasks to complete. I did them to the letter. It still didn't work!
