Summary: Just a few months after purchasing this camera, we began to have difficulty getting the camera to open. The battery was fully charged, and when the power button was pressed, the light would come on and make a noise like it was trying to open, but would not. We have tried removing the battery and re-inserting it, but this does not help. This has occurred numerous times, and we are now in the market for a different camera a little over a year later.
Summary: I bought this camera a while ago because I love taking pictures and was going to Hawaii the next month with my high school competition choir. I have had many canon cameras and loved them. They seemed to live forever. I thought this one would be fine though. I ordered it and it seemed to do what I wanted. I have had enough cameras that i am a fairly good photographer and I know how to take care of a camera.I had it probably 2-3 months before we left for Hawaii.
Summary: I got this last christmas, im so regretting my choice, i dont have a clear and clean picture, comes out dark and blurr, wish i gotten one of those with more pixels, my 7yr old son is now enjoying it since i refuse to capture my special moments with it.
Camera broke twice in a year and nikon refuses to fix it

Summary: First the battery would not charge, which technical support repaired for free (but we had to pay shipping). When I got the camera back, it only worked for a few weeks until a lens error message appeared. technical support claims camera has sand damage, which is ridiculous cuz i have not been able to use the camera since i bought it, let alone take it to the beach. They want to charge pretty much the same price i paid for the camera to fix it.
Great until you read,"battery exhausted", on the display.

Summary: I bought this camera replacing a Kodak that had lasted over 4 years of snow skiing and riding wave runners. I received this camera and was happy at first. The still shots were crisp and the video was great. One morning I went to charge the battery and after about 1 hour I read,"battery exhausted", in the view screen. When I returned it, Nicon said it was from "Customer Misuse". It would have cost more than the original purchase price of the camera to have it repaired.
Summary: I purchased the Nikon Coolpix as a small camera to carry around in my backpack. When it arrived I was mildly disappointed in the quality, it just felt "cheap", but I guess you get what you pay for, I expected something a bit more rugged. The camera takes decent pictures, but is painfully slow. Furthermore after 6 months the lens jammed and after returning the camera to Nikon warranty for repair, they claimed that it was impact damage and thus not covered.
Summary: While the price is right for this camera, I am not impressed with its performance. I have yet to take a picture that is not blurry. It has lots of settings, but none that just take a simple, focused picture. I am back to using my old camera....
