Excerpt: When the lens for my Nikon D40 broke, I wanted to purchase a cheaper point and shoot camera so I choose this one after doing a little research. It was a bad choice. The photo quality was horrible. The color was just awful. Every picture was blurry and overexposed. I have a toddler so it is hard to get pictures of her sitting still, much less when she is on the go.
Summary: Having been a fan of the Nikon brand since the early 70s, I was eager to try this inexpensive point and shoot digital model. I actually bought 2; one for my wife and one for my daughter. I was very disappointed with the photo quality of this camera. As other reviewers stated, outdoor snaps in bright light seem to fare acceptably, however almost every other lighting condition fails miserably to produce a photo that is not blurry or has low muddy contrast.
Summary: I so regret buying this camera. It's been over a year since I purchased it and I only used it twice. And both times the pictures were so bad it was unusable. My oldest 3 megapixel camera takes better pictures. I thought the touchscreen would be cool but again it was a big disappointment. I've always had Canons in the past and thought i'd try a Nikon. It was a big mistake. I've been back to using my old Canon camera for now.
Summary: I am SO disgusted with this camera! Does not take good pictures indoors (about cell phone quality and not the iphone, which blows this camera away!). Very soft, and sometimes hazy, and the subject is about 10' away (with or without flash). Outdoors the picture quality improves, but only in good sun light. I've had this camera for about a year and have tried various settings hoping to get the quality to improve, but to no avail.
Summary: Purchased this camera for my son as a Christmas gift. I should have listened to the negative reviews! He took less than 100 photos within the first month of using the camera and it stopped working because of a LENS ERROR two days before he was leaving for a trip to Italy! We have to purchase another camera for him to take with him on the trip and it most definitely won't be a NIKON COOLPIX which is junk!
Summary: I had to send it back to the manufacturer twice because of a "lens error." It was a huge hassle and took over a month and a half for them to return and repair. Not worth it. There are plenty of other cameras out there.
Summary: This camera was a big dissappointment, it looked new as was advertised by seller but the touchscreen was blurry possibly refurbished and the pictures were awful. I also had to send several emails to just get a refund. Rec'd refund on 11/29/10 and the seller rec'd my return on 11/18/10. Will not buy from 3rd party again on amazon.
Summary: The quality of the picture ("in whatever mode it is") is the worst. Pictures are so dull and blurred. I would recommend not to buy this camera. If a camera cannot take good pictures, other features like touch screen does not matter.
Summary: I am very dissapointed with this camera. When I got my 1st one it had a dent on the front. I returned it and I got a new one in the mail a few days later. I was happy with this one until it got a crack in the screen. Now I can't delete photos, or edit them. I would not recommend this product.
Summary: This isn't that great of a camera. The touch-screen barely works. You have to press it a million times for it to MAYBE recognize what you're trying to click. Another really annoying thing is that you can't get pictures off the camera the same way you can with every other digital camera. They make you use their awful Nikon Transfer software, which doesn't even recognize the camera when I plug it in, which means I can't get anything off of the camera. Look elsewhere.
