Good camera for a pocket point and shoot

Gail Peterson, Amazon

  • Summary: I purchased this camera (in plum) a couple of years ago and have been overall very pleased with it. The build and fit is very good. Functions are easy to use and nicely laid out. The large LCD on the back provides a good viewing area and the picture quality is acceptable, if you take the time to try to get the best picture in-camera and do not limit yourself to the built-in auto mode.

  • Excerpt: This camera takes great pictures. The screen is bright and clear. It has a light senstive lens, so it takes great pictures in dim light without usiing the flash. I would definitely recommomend this camera to anybody.

I love my Nikon Coolpix S220 camera!

  • Excerpt: Very compact (fits in my pocketbook) and takes wonderful, clear pictures.  The zoom feature is nice to have as well as the vibration reduction feature so that the photos don't come out looking blurry or shaky.  The color selection to choose from was great and I ended up getting a pretty seafoam green color.  The camera is very easy to use, especially for me, as I am sometimes technically challenged when it comes to new digital equipment.

Nikon CoolPix S220 is great for outside shots but not inside

  • Excerpt: My father-in-law bought me one of these before our Grand Canyon trip. This camera was perfect for our road trip. We flew into Las Vegas, drove and stayed in Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, and finally went through Hoover Dam to board the plane back to SF. I was amazed at how amazing the pictures turned out. There were such beautiful shots with vivid colors and sharp detail. That was outside though.

My Nikon Coopix S220 is small and lightweight

  • Excerpt: I have young children and love to document everything with photos! I used to lug around a large, heavy camera that took wonderful photos when they were toddlers, but realized that I was taking less and less photos. It was because I didn't want to carry my bulky camera anymore! My husband started missing the photos too so for Mother's Day, he surprised me with a Nikon Coolpix S220. He does lots of research before making purchases and made an excellent choice.

Daughter loves it!

  • Excerpt: I bought this camera for my 13 year old daughter.  The price was right, the features were there and it makes a nice first camera.  It is very easy to use.  The sound quality on the video is better than I expected it to be.  She had no trouble using it from the first day she got it.  My only disappointment, is the quality on the zoom.  It tends to get grainy the more you zoom in, but I guess that would be better on a more expensive camera.

The Coolpix S220 is a good point-and-shoot

  • Excerpt: I have had my Coolpix S220 for some time now.  It has been a reliable camera and takes good pictures for a point-and-shoot.  It has more than enough options for an amateur photographer, and is easy enough to use for a beginner. I particularly like the shooting grid (to help center subjects in the shot), and the color and picture options.

Great camera with only 1flaw

  • Excerpt: I had purchased this camera about 2 years ago because of a camera i once had was broken and i thought i bought a good brand and and it looks great but only has one flaw. When you want to take a quick picture it will never happen. This camera is very slow at taking pictures because it trys to focus and sometimes you have to hold down the click button which sucks, Other then that the camera is great.

This Nikon camera is a good camera

  • Excerpt: I needed a camera before my trip to Europe last summer and was on a kind of tight budget so I headed over to Costco and saw this camera for about $150 and decided that it was pretty much the camera for me at this certain time and point! The camera worked pretty well for the year and a half that I had it. Pretty basic camera and didn't need much to learn how to use it. More apps would have been good too. I do wish that it was more clear though.

  • Excerpt: As a mother a camera that offers convience and great pictures is a must. The Nikon Cool Pix camera definitely offers that. We needed a camera that was easy to take with us and easy to pull out for quick pictures for those special moments. We don't have any complaints when it comes to the basic uses of this camera. We have taken very good quality snaps of our children and have many memories photographed because of how simple it is to use.
