Excerpt: I received this camera as a Christmas gift. I wanted a small camera that I could easily carry around and not be too bulky. This camera is sleek and easy to operate. However, it doesn't take the best pictures. The pictures taken outside when it is sunny are fine. If the light is not great, the pictures turn out kind of orange. Also, if someone is moving it looks like a blur. My Kodak would stablize movement and turn out fine.
Excerpt: I purchased this cool nikon s203 camera as part of the black friday specials from last year at targey! love targey! This was pretty much in stock at the store i went to, so much that i had enough time to think if i should purchase it or not, and still had time to return to the store and purchase it in the afternoon! hehe guess the tvs were the hot buys. This was priced under 100 buckaroos, and it proudly came with 10 megapixels. It has 3 times optical zoom.
Excerpt: I got this camera because of the Nikon name, price and portability. It was also an upgrade in megapixes from the 5 on my Canon A110 to 10 mpix here. Unfortunately after getting the camera and taking some pictures I have been underwhelmed by the picture quality. The pictures are grainy, even in full light, and worse in low light situations. The colors also seem to be less vibrant than expected.
Excerpt: Nikon - Coolpix S203 Digital Camera. I got this Nikon coolpix digital camera as a Christmas gift last year. I loved the color (red), the compact size and the name Nikon. However, am bit disappointed with the quality of the pictures. The picture quality is not clear as I would like it to be. It’s bit blurry. There are lot of features in this camera- from auto mode, party/indoor to recording. Also, there is facial recognition and auto focus which is pretty cool.
Excerpt: I went black friday shopping for the first time, last year, and it was a pretty plesant experience. Evreyone was friendly, and the shopping was great too, great deals, including the Nikon CoolPix S203 10MP Digital Camera at target for 88 bucks. it was like 50 bucks discounted. Now I have heard many great things about the brand niko n. but this nikon did nothing to prove it was up to the quality I expected from a Nikon.
Summary: We bought this on the Target black friday special and it was worked out very well. I also own a Nikon D40 slr which is another entry level product and have been very pleased with it. The s203 was bought just have something small and handy to throw in your pocket/purse when we didn't want to bother with the SLR. At under $90 I considered it a disposable camera and was hoping to get a 1-2 years out of it.
Summary: I actually like this camera. Now, it's not my main camera. I have a large Nikon P90 for special events, but for basic shooting, this camera works for me. I will admit photos can be grainy if not put into high quality mode which is not the default mode. No problems once the image quality was changed.
Excerpt: I loved my Nikon Coolpix L21, so when I saw this Coolpix for $69 I grabbed it. It was on Thanksgiving sale so I did not have a chance to research it first. It is sharp looking and the battery charged fine, but the pictures were awful. The auto flash either made them too light or too dark. Using the zoom 1/4 way and only 15 feet away made the picture grainy, and it was almost impossible not get clear pictures because the shutter speed was so slow.
