Summary: All of those features are nice, but here's what really makes the S1200pj a fun toy: it has a built-in 20 lumen DLP projector with a 100:1 contrast ratio. Since it's third gen technology, the S1200pj has really improved in terms of brightness and projector performance (the S1000pj only had a 10 lumen...

Nikon Coolpix S1200pj Review – The Ultimate Projector Cam
24 October 2011
Excerpt: The Nikon Coolpix S1200pj digital camera is breed of its own, migrating a 20-lumen projector into its compact point-and-shoot body. Believe it or not, this is Nikon’s third projector cam, and after a full testing phase, I can safely report…
Summary: The S1200pj's projector is a neat feature, but still we find the asking price too high. Despite being a good camera at heart, it's let down by a little too much variation in brightness in some pictures. We'd rather lose the projector and, with it, lose a few pounds.
Pros: Genuinely useful projector; Slim body; Great build quality.
Cons: Expensive for what it is; Some variation of brightness at relatively low sensitivity settings.
Conclusion: More than just a mere compact camera, but rather - if we’re feeling grand - a broadcast device, the Coolpix S1200pj satisfies on several levels. However, ironically, image quality isn’t its strongest point.
Summary: The thrid-generation Nikon Coolpix S1200pj is still the only camera with a built-in projector on the market, further refining last year's model mainly by signifcantly improving the projector unit and ditching the S1100pj's touch-screen interface.
