Summary: touch screen is not as sensitive, you will have to press 5 sec before it moves. even tho it's 10MP, it's still grainy using digital zoom at 15ft what else...uhm scene mode is not accessible.. its automatic, so you dont have control over it. this is only good for 5 ft kind of snap and shoot w/ no lighting challenges remember this is so small, so think vibration, noise and grainy another coolpix that didnt pass my expectation like CoolpixS3000 didnt deliver the performance...
Summary: I was looking for a camera I could throw in a purse that would do better than my iPhone. This wasn't it. It was hard to handle because it was almost too small and the photos (especially indoors) were grainy. There were no settings so it was too limited for me. I returned it & bought a Nikon S3300 for less. It's much better-more zoom, different settings, decent flash, and I got some great action shots. The 3300 is nice complement to my SLR and fits in my purse.
Summary: My husband purchased this camera for me at Christmas time. I have had so much fun using this camera! I especially love the fact that it fits in my VERY small purse and I carry it everywhere I go. I am a bit of a camera snob and am very picky about what brand of camera I use as well as the quality. I found that this camera is really nice quality for the price and the fact that I didn't have to purchase a separate memory card is excellent!
Summary: If you don't care too much about the quality, and just want a few snapshots of your friends and family at a gathering, use your Smartphone. I have taken over 200 pictures with the S01, on all the different modes. I wasn't expecting much from such a tiny camera, but I did expect it to take better pictures than my iPhone 4S. Sorry to say, it doesn't.
Summary: This Nikon has greater picture resolution than my Kodak P712 camera, but has poor picture quality. The good: it fits in my coin pocket. It has some nice, built-in special effects, built-in storage holds 3,000 photos. The bad: the lower left corner of the touch screen randomly stops working. At those times I'm unable to change the flash settings. Poor picture quality. Camera is very slow. I frequently miss the shot I want because the camera is not ready to take it.
Summary: I recently bought the S01 on an impulse for no reason other than its unique size. After using it I was not impressed to find that the proprietary-to-USB connection was the only way to transfer photos, an inexcusable omission in light of the fact that there is no removable storage or wireless connection. If I were to misplace the included cable my little camera would become unusable. What was Nikon thinking?
Pros: Small size, acceptable picture quality.
Cons: No removable storage, proprietary cable connection.
