Summary: I've always had a thing for smaller things so when I saw this camera, I knew I had to have it. Was very excited when I received this camera until I took it for a test run. The pictures are very grainy and trying to take a indoor picture is a lost cause. The photos give off an orange/yellow tint even in a well lit room. Needless to say, this camera was returned the next day.
Summary: Loved everything about it but I could not transfer photos to my Mac! The software would not download to my Mac because my OS 10.5.11 does not reach the minimum requirements, so I tried to download to my wife's Windows 7 computer and this would not work because my AOL browser would quit every time I tried and displayed an error message! Before purchasing, I read all the specs and nowhere did it give minimum OS System requirements.
Summary: The Coolpix was the right size but didn't work after taking 3 picks. I called Nikon help line and they were oblivious to the problem although there were questions about the same problem on the internet.
Summary: I would not recommend this company. When I got the camera the box was very dirty and looked used. I contacted amazon and they'd refunded me some credit as the company said it must have been how amazon stored it. Not true. It was a Christmas present and the camera looked ok in the package so I kept it for the gift.amazon said they'd had no more. The I gave the company three stars at first.
Summary: I returned this right away. It took terrible pictures. They were all yellow and icky, reminded me of the old digital cameras. Even in natural light they didn't look good. They were all blury and grainy. There was a long pause after you hit the shutter button before the photo was taken, so you pretty much missed the moment each time. There is no memory card! You have to do everything off the internal memory, which is not handy at all.
Summary: so the exclamation point came on...took me forever to figure out it meant that the battery was exhausted---yet the battery icon was showing full. plugged it in to recharge yesterday and it worked last night. then this morning it wouldn't do anything---little exclamation point on again and yet the battery icon was full. so i plugged it in and went to work. just got home...turned it on ... it kept saying (and it did this yesterday) that the card wasn't formatted.
Summary: When I saw this camera I couldn't wait to get it. I own a d7000 and love it but I wanted a camera I could toss in my purse and have for those "wish I had a camera" moments. What a disappointment. The pics are grainy and the flash does not work right. My camera is actually back at Nikon now so I am looking forward to their explanation.
Camera quit working. Red exclamation point on display with no explanation.
Red exclamation, Nikon

Summary: We purchased this camera for my daughter on 12/24/2012 to take with her on an extended trip to South America. Of all places, it quit working in the Galapagos. A couple days ago, when she turned it on, a red exclamation point was displayed with no explanation as to why and the camera would not function. She tried the reset button and the battery is charged. The camera has not been damaged (water, sand, impact, etc.
