Pros: The screen tilts, Image Stabilization is good enough to handle the mega-zoom.
Cons: Images come out looking horrible in all but the brightest light. Even an overcast day can turn images grainy. Shots are commonly tinted yellow, and not in a minor way. A white wall will be as yellow as a wooden desk, and often the pictures are so color di
Excerpt: simply horrible .ALL the disappointed owners need to get together. There seems to be something very very wrong with sensor and I mean that with as much intensity as I can place with words. Of all the cameras I ever tried this was the worst. PLus if you go to ebay you will have noticed Cammedia or a reseller selling reconditioned P90s by the hundreds if not thousands. Were they bad cameras that were fixed and original owners didn't want?
Summary: I have spent about 1 month now with my Coolpix P90. I have taken about 2,000 photos in every condition I can muster to try it out and to give you the most information possible with my expirence. Unfortunately, I have made a bad purchase. Let me give you some background, I am moving from a 10 year old film camera over to digital and I am trying to keep the same quality of film, while using a digital camera. I am an automatic guy.
Summary: "This is my honest review of the P90: I am an artist (painter) and needed a high mega pixel camera to photograph my paintings for reproduction. I researched for 3 months to make sure which camera I wanted. I came to the conclusion that the Nikon P90 had every single feature I wanted and within the price range I had. I read some bad reviews but I figured it couldnt be that bad and I would give it a shot. I recieved this camera for my birthday last week.
Summary: I wanted to love this camera, I really did! I have had two Nikon Coolpix during the last 4 years and loved them, so I was excited to upgrade to the P90. I had read all the reviews on Amazon as well as other sites, and assumed that the people who were writing bad reviews of the camera just didn't know how to use it. I was wrong. First, I know it's a point and shoot camera and not a DSLR.
Summary: I liked many things about this camera - light weight (maybe a bit too light), rechargeable, lightweight battery, 24x zoom, 12 megapixels, etc. - but the pictures were terrible. I take a lot of landscapes and plant close-ups. Greens tended toward yellow, purple toward blue. In fact, a dark purple pansy that came out moderately light blue was the final straw.
