See lessNikon\u2019s COOLPIX P90 is the latest in a steady stream of new super-zoom digital cameras, and looks promising from the outset with a longer range and higher resolution than many key rivals. With 12.1 Megapixels and a 24x optical zoom range, it out specifies both the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28, which are leaders in this market. Indeed only the 26x zoom range of the Olympus SP-590UZ stops Nikon\u2019s latest from claiming the crown of... Read more

Take a very wide-angle stabilized 24X optical zoom lens and ad full-manual controls, that is the Nikon Coolpix P90. It is freedom to compose and expose to your liking, from close or far. Read more
After checking reputable online sites for prices, we found the P90 for around $360, which on the face of it doesn’t seem too bad. But – and it’s a big but – the Sony DSC-HX1 goes for $50 more. This is the best Ulysses Grant you’ll ever spend, even though the zoom is less powerful (see our review here for the details). The Sony’s Sweep Panorama, 10 fps shooting and 1080P put it way ahead of this Coolpix. Then again, there may be people who don’t care one... Read more
The Nikon Coolpix P90 is a good camera, with a reasonable price point for an ultrazoom camera. However, it comes into a market that is rife with competition, and doesn't fare well by comparison. When we subjected it to our battery of tests, we were happy with color accuracy and image noise, but the lens tended to distort images heavily, and the image stabilization system wasn't up to scratch. One of the great disappointments of this camera is its standard definition... Read more

Needing a small camera to carry with me at all choosing the p90 was an easy choice. Rather than carrying a dslr the research payed off under the extreme conditions of winter in Fairbanks Alaska and riding my bicycle while shooting (yes in the winter) it was a good choice. The intentions were to use it for test shots and after seeing the results it soon became the main camera. Read more
I bought this camera on sale, they offered $100 off. I should have passed. The images are grainy, image stabalization is there (technically) but does not seem to do very much. I was looking for a smaller camera to carry around, but I guess you get what you pay for (maybe not in this case). I was/am very disappointed Nikon would allow such a poor performing camera to wear its name. I would rename this the "Black Sheep" of Nikon's cameras. Do yourself a favor, buy an SLR... Read more
