A Great Camera

Ted F. Johnson, Amazon
23 January 2014
  • Summary: We live in a retirement community and my wife takes 6,000 (yes 6,000) pictures annually. Our camera is more than 3 years old now so we are talking about 20,000 pictures or so. As you can imagine I spend a good bit of time on the computer printing these out; but my wife is known as the "Picture Lady"...

A very versatile advanced point & shoot camera.

catwoman60, Ebay
8 December 2012
  • Summary: This is a great little camera even thogh it is now out of production and probably replaced by equally competant (if not superior) models. Called an advanced point & shoot, it has many user adjustable features allowing more experimentation and more precise control of modes and parameters: largely...

A former flagship product holds its own.

redjacketcommissioner, Ebay
19 September 2011
  • Summary: A former flagship product holds its own. A really excellent pocket camera. Lots of DSLR similar features packed in a small frame. Now that it is two model revisions behind the current model, also quite affordable. A poster child for the eBay experience.

The 8MP Nikon P1 was a better camera

Sean Brady, Amazon
30 August 2010
  • Summary: I used the Nikon P1 8MP camera for several years. I used it all the time, and I even took photos which I sold in a gallery (printed 24 inches by 16 inches). Nikon then replaced the P1 with the P5000 and then that camera was replaced with the P5100.

Nikon P5100

msbfrombigd, Ebay
27 August 2010
  • Summary: Having lost my P5000, I knew the P5100 would be even a little better. Although used, it was very thoughtfully packed, with all accessories still wrapped as tho new. I've taken a few photos and it seems to have the same "action" as my old camera. I was going for the same feeling.

Nikon Coolpix P5100

Andy Oltman, Amazon
23 August 2010
  • Summary: I purchased this camera as a backup to my Nikon D80. I love the D80 but needed something small that I could easily carry and use when conditions make the D80 inconvenient. I found it in the P5100. The camera comes with a good wide angle-to-zoom lens, but with restricted zoom capability.
