Summary: I look the size if fit the hand well, picture are what I am look for in a digital camera. Today camera looks at compact size this camera of the past opens a good camera and a good price to get the pictures one need for the web or home use.
Excerpt: I bought my P5000 2nd hand off eBay and it is just superb. I find it a very handy wee camera. I have it in my van glovebox and its ready to go at any time. The battery is very long lasting. I carry a spare battery just in case but I have never needed it... We have an old Olypus digital camera at work and its a night mare to use and setup. It still takes really fuzzy pictures. I usually end up going for my P5000.... The inside shots and close ups are really clear.
Summary: I've had the P5000 for over 6 months now and I'm pretty happy with it overall. By far, it is the most comfortable (to hold) compact camera I've ever tried and the build quality is excellent. The layout & design of the body & buttons is outstanding, and the menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate. The LCD is big, bright, and beautiful and sufficient 99% of the time.
Excerpt: I bought the Nikon Coolpix P 5000 the week that the camera go to market. I have taken more than 3,000 pictures as Portraits,Part/Inddor, Night Portrits, Landscapes, Mmuseum, Close Ups, Sports, etc., etc. The performance of this camera is excellent and the picture quality is very good for a Camera of this size and the price of U.S. $ 339.00 (approximatly).
Excerpt: This is my best pocketable cam ever! Many users complained about its responsiveness. It's more than adequate for many many different situations and occasions. This is NOT a 6 frame/sec sports camera...; if you want a sports camera, you should get a DSLR. If you shoot regular static frames such as; lanscapes, nature, cars, macro, people, friends, pets etc, it's more than perfect...to me anyway.
Summary: I returned this camera not because anything was wrong with it, but because it had too many features for what I wanted. The shutter lag was a bit slow, and I wanted a point-and-shoot that I could carry everywhere and whip out of my bag at a moment's notice. I was also a Canon and Olympus user before and had never had a Nikon. I chose to buy the Canon PowerShot SD1000 instead and am very happy now.
