The Nikon CoolPix P100 is a 10.3 million megapixel digital camera that is powered by a 1/2.3-in. CCD image sensor and supported by a 26x zoom NIKKOR lens with 4.6-120 mm focal range, f/2.8-5 aperture range, up to 4x digital zoom, a 3.0-inch (460k-dot) TFT LCD display with anti-reflection coating, a 0.24 inch electronic viewfinder with 230K color support, a 43 MB internal memory with SD memory cards support, Electronic VR and image sensor shift for vibration reduction and up to 3200 ISO sensitivity. The Nikon CoolPix P100 is powered by rechargeable Li-ion battery which provides users with up to 250 shots. The Nikon CoolPix P100 measures 114.4 x 82.7 x 98.6 mm (4.5 x 3.3 x 3.9 in.) and weighs 481g (17.0 oz.) with battery and SD memory card.

The camera features a 3.0 inch 460k-dot TFT LCD, stabilizing function such as Electronic VR image stabilization that reduces blurry photos; ISO 3200 sensitivity to capture images in low light conditions, and image sensor shift. The camera also features a backside illumination CMOS sensor, in-camera HDR and enhanced night shooting and high-speed shooting at maximum size 3648 x 2736 (10M) at a 10-fps (approx.), or up to 120-fps in Sport Continuous mode. Other features on the camera include movie shooting at Full HD 1080p for high-definition images with stereo sound; P, S, A and M exposure modes, Motion Detection; BSS (Best Shot Selector) shoots a maximum of 10 sequential shots and selects the sharpest image; Active D-Lighting function; Smart Portrait System with Skin Softening; Subject Tracking, an electronic viewfinder and USB charging via Charging AC Adapter EH-68P/EH-68P (AR) or PC.
