Summary: This camera is functional and zooms in well but for any type of activity shot you have to use the consecutive and you sacrifice timing of the getting any shot for another 30-45 seconds. For the money a good camera but if taking pictures of kids in sports not so great.
Summary: I wanted to use this for a purse camera, but, with the 4 AA batts in it, it's really too heavy. Takes great pictures, and is probably the coolest looking camera I've ever owned, but I find myself avoiding using it.
Summary: In terms of the picture quality, zoom, looks its all good. The only downside is it needs 4 A2 batteries which makes it little difficult to handle when you travel around. I might have omitted this information while buying it. Had it been a product with lithium batteries, it would have been more suitable. 1 and half * less for the battery, otherwise good value for money.
Summary: I didn't realize when I ordered this camera that it had no view finder. I take most of my pictures outdoors in bright sunshine. It is nearly impossible to see the image well enough to frame a good picture. I had another Nikon camera in the past that had a viewfinder and it was easier and more pleasant to use.
Pretty good, but not for indoor kid-in-motion pictures

Summary: I really WANT to love this camera. I bought it as a replacement after my son got a hold of our Nikon Coolpix S8100 and broke the lens. I was super excited to get the L820 and move "up" in quality a bit, and I'm feeling a little heartbroken that I am probably going to be returning it. I'm not a professional by any means, so these are just my amateur observations after using it for the last week. The good: -- The zoom is great, and the image stabilization really works!
Summary: This is a good camera, great for the money. The zoom is excellent. The color is ok, but not great. The clarity or sharpness is good, but not great. Overall a good camera. I was surprised at it size, smaller than I had expected. Compared to a smart phone..this is way better, no comparison really. However, it's still just a point and shoot camera..I do like taking nature photographs and having a camera with a good zoom is nice to have.
