Summary: The Coolpix L5 is a great camera for the price. The fact it user AA batteries is a plus. Is seems to shoot well in lower light situations. Also a plus is that the image size is not too huge so it can store a good number of photos on a 1GB SD card.
Summary: I have had a Coolpix L5 for a number of years and recently the memory card broke into pieces (not a camera issue) when reinserted into the camera (it had been used a lot). In the process some of the card parts lodged into the card reader and shorted it out.
Summary: I misread the ebay listing that I bid on... thinking the camera could do better than it does. It's an OK camera. My biggest gripe is that it has such a lag (of several seconds) between pictures. It just seems slower than I thought it would be.
Summary: This camera was great until I got the "Lens Error" message on my screen. Beware buyers - apparently a small drop of the camera or even a little dust in the lens is going to ruin it to the point where you may as well buy a new one.
Summary: This is the fourth L5 I have had the pleasure to buy. The other three still work, I just replaced one we accidentally dropped breaking the battery cover. I use one camera for personal use, this new one and the other two are work cameras I purchased.
