Summary: though the camera is fantastically made for capturing images, the worst and worst of it is the battery door: a tiny latch holding the spring loaded AA batteries in their compartment!! once the latch weakens, say good bye to the camera. might as well throw it away... i purchased a FUJI finepix F660EXR which has a very easy battery holding latch (only because the battery is a special type). but this one has other inconveniences too...
Summary: I bought this camera about 2 years ago and only just getting to review it. The batter door was broken from first day of use and I've only used it 2-3 times after sticking tape on it and holding it firmly while in use. Can get embarrassing when you ask someone to take a picture and the batteries slide out...garbage camera. Would not buy again had I read the reviews.
Summary: I have written an initial review and wanted to express my dissatisfaction again with this camera. I have used the camera only a few times ( last time I used this camera was 4 mos. ago). I bought this camera one year ago.I know that any sort of warranty has expired but I would like to forewarn any other buyers to avoid this seller or be careful when purchasing used items on amazon.
Summary: My wife has been asking for a simple video camera for quite awhile. After reading complaints repeatedly listing a weak battery door and Nikon's poor customer service, I am returning the Nikon Coolpix L-24 I bought her today. I don't think Nikon deserves my business if they treat other customers so poorly. Apparently Nikon Quality Control is no longer what it used to be and the number of complaints I've seen is statistically way too high.
Summary: I`ve bought this camera confident that Nikon is a good brand besides the price. Unfortunately the camera work only for five minutes, i don`t know what happened but I couldn`t return it because I travelled back to Brazil.
Summary: I bought this camera for a summer vacation. (My daughter had a Coolpix and had trouble with the camera's battery door not closing. I thought it was just a fluke.) The very first day I used my camera on vacation, the battery door would not close. Upon looking at it closely, it seemed a small piece of plastic was broken. I had to tape the door shut for the remainder of my trip. When I returned, I sent the camera back and bought a different brand.
Same story as others!!!!! Broken battery door latch!

Summary: I didn't see that others were having the same problem until today. I didn't have the camera a month when the battery door latch broke. I finally got around to sending it in for repair, knowing that it would be covered on the warranty. But today I received the bill for the repair--$73.30 for the repair since it's NOT covered by the warranty. What a joke! So I decided to warn others--and then I see all these reviews from folks with the same problem.
Summary: I purchased the camera to take on a vacation. After six months, the small plastic latch on battery compartment broke. I had to tape it closed which was a huge inconvenience if I wanted to remove the card or needed to change batteries. Even worse, as I attempted to get assistance from Nikon, they wanted to see the camera without talking about it. Well after $11.00 to return to Nikon, I quickly received an email saying they would need about $100 to repair and return.
