Summary: Bought a couple of these cameras for my grandsons age 6 and 9. The camera is very well built, has a useful zoom lens and feels a quality product. Takes remarkable quality stills and short video bursts. Easy to use by both children and adults. The boys loved them and really use them. I am astonished that such a good camera can be bought for so little money. Would certainly recommend.
Summary: I bought this for my brother and his wife who were going on a Mediterranean cruise. Some of the photos, they took, were brillaint. It's just a matter of point and shoot. It's just a matter of carrying a spare set of batteries and all your holidays snaps are taken care of.
Excerpt: "...shops we decided on the Nikon Coolpix L23 which we bought from Mediamarkt in Spain for 56euros on special offer. This included the fabric case, a memory card and two AA batteries, a wrist strap and USB cable. I was impressed with this deal and came home happy. Ours is the silver version and weighs 170gs. Measuring 10cm by 7cms.It fits into the palm of my hand and has a wrist strap which I try always to use as a friend's camera was knocked out ...
Pros: Inexpensive, light, good picture quality .
Cons: You need to chane the batteries to the rechargable kind .
Nikon Coolpix L24: Nikon Coolpix is Hot Enough for Me!
22 November 2012
Summary: For many years I had a Canon Powershot 500 which I received as a gift. I was quite happy with it but only used a few of it's functions as I only use a camera to take family snaps and also to use at work. If something goes wrong on a boat it is far easier to send a photo of the broken fitting, pipe or whatever than to try and explain it to an owner over the phone, Eventually the Canon came to the end of it's life and we had to look for a replacement.
Pros: Takes great photos, light, easy to use.
Cons: The original batteries run out quickly so substitute rechargable ones.
Summary: This really is a superb camera. Like previous reviewers, I had slight difficulty inserting the batteries and the memory card. I still haven't worked out how to attach the wrist strap! Having said this, the camera itself is excellent. The few pictures I have taken so far are great - despite the fact that I have a slight disability and can only hold the camera in one hand!
