Excerpt: Nikon coolpix L18 This camera replaced my Ge brand camera, Which sucked!!! I bought this one at sears last week and the sales associate said she has it and it is great for the price. I took it home, read the whole manual, and started taking pictures, of everything lol, my clock, flowers, kids. Wonderful quality. I love the face framing tool, I just point and the smart camera does the rest. So many cool features that I haven't even used yet! Mine was on sale for 120.00.
Excerpt: really handy camera, easy to use, no delay on the shutter takes great photos, small and compact, handy for travel or everyday use, nikon is a good product and didn't fall short on this one, it takes close up shots really easily and the zoom works well to get good photos from further away. One negative is the use of it indoors in flourescent lighting all my pictures have the yellowed look to them in that setting. I haven't explored all the freatures on the shot menu yet...
Excerpt: The Nikon Coolpix L18 is a very serious point and shoot camera. The camera has a large screen to show the pictures with quality. The retracting lens protects the camera from breaking when it is dropped (should it be off). The flash is clear and provides a good amount of light to the subject. It is middle-weight for the type of camera, and it has a good grip to enable easy shooting. The menu leaves something to be desired.
The Nikon Coolpix is a great point and shoot for the money.

Excerpt: The nikon was bought for my brother for his newborn twin baby girls. He is not a professional photographer, but I am. I know what is quality and what is not. Nikon lense is fantastic. The coolpix is great for the average tourist/parent/amateur photographer. It is not grainy, it is very lightweight and compact--fits in a pocket easily--and it is a sleek looking camera!
Excerpt: The camera is easy to use, has fast shutter speed, a good sized screen, is intuitive and takes great pictures. However, I bought the camera because it uses AA batteries. I wanted a camera that if it had a dead battery I could buy a battery any place in the world and start shooting. So far so good. THIS LITTLE CAMERA CAN KILL A SET OF NEW ALKALINE BATTERIES WITHIN MINUTES. I bought some lithium and rechargable batteries in the hope that battery life would be acceptable.
Excerpt: This camera is an 8.0 Megapixels, ISO 1600 & Antishake AE (good for when you have kiddos!) with a 3.0 inch LCD. But I'm sure you already know that. What I liked about this camera was that it is small, it has video capability, various scenes to choose from to change your flash to make your pictures turn out better and it's easy to upload the pictures and videos to my computer. What I do not like about it, is that there's a delay before the picture is taken.
Excerpt: agggghhhhh! I just had to write and tell ya that I love my Nikon Cool Pix camera that I was given for my birthday. What a great gift. No more trying to find my way around something that I could never get right. The Nikon Cool Pix camera pretty much does it for ya or at least it makes picture taking a lot easier to do. My pictures are great! I look like a pro. Easy to take, download and print. I can't say enough. Why didn't I get one long before, I'll never know.
Excerpt: I purchased the Nikon Coolpix L18 Digital Camera from Targer for about $129. By the time I was done purchasing the accessories and warranties the total came to about $205. This camera has exceptional zoom capabilities. I was able to stand about 30 feet away from a typical typed letter, take a picture in the easy auto mode and I was able to read it from the picture. That is one of my favorite features. The video capability is so-so.
Pros: *Excellent quality pictures for a P.a.S. *Small and lightweight, perfect for pockets *Very good optionally hi-res video *Very sturdy; can be used for years or dropped without falling apart *Huge LCD Live View screen
Cons: *Mic on video is very sensitive and loud sounds overload it *Will say it's focused but won't be *Very little adjustability *Poor white balance/long exposures become yellow *Slow turnon/initial adjusting of white balance
Summary: For a beginner photographer such as myself, I have always been fond of the Nikon brand. Maybe it's their catchy, unique name or their stylish Coolpix cameras. A trip to Walmart landed me in the photo/camera section. While glancing over some new models, one specific camera caught my attention. The Nikon L18. I was really convinced and motivated to buy it because of the entertaining commercial I watched several weeks ago.
Pros: #, 8.0 Megapixels for stunning prints as large as 16 x 20 inches. Plenty of sharp resolution to capture the finest details, crop creatively and product incredible enlargements, #, 3x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens gets you close to the action. NIKKOR optics provide exceptional pictures. The lens is built on a proud heritage of producing precision camera optics that deliver superb color and razor-sharp results, #, New EXPEED image processor ensures high-quality picture...
Cons: The lens gets dusty often. Make sure to clean it every once in a while. Also the photo stabilizer can be improved. Besides that, it's a GREAT camera.
