Summary: The camera was delivered promptly and appeard to be in very good condition, however the lense does not readily open when the camera is turned on which causes the picture to be either all black or mostly blacked out. The front apereature sticks frequently.
Summary: I bought this camera as a Christmas present for my mother who needed a decent easy to use camera. I never saw any pictures from her and wondered why she wasn't using it. Needless to say, the camera's manual was completely in Spanish! And, one of the USB cables (PC connector) was missing.
Summary: I loved it in the begining, takes great pictures and was easy to use. Three Months later we took picture and shut the camera off. The lens retracted crooked. I swear to you it was not abused. I didnt expect Nikon to cover it any way.
Summary: I bought this camera last year to take holiday photos and i haven't stopped using it since. It didn't really cut into my budget because i got at a really good price despite its many functions. It takes really good pictures. It's very efficient and easy to use.
Summary: The main issue I have with this is it is not compatible with windows 2000 as Nikon claims. You have to pull the SD card out and use an SD card reader every time you want to down load your pics. In which case you can use it with just about any OS.
Summary: I have had this camera for 6 months. I purchased this camera for business use and it worked well until the flash burned out. It still takes good pictures. I would have expected this type of failure since I am consistently bumping into things.
Pros: Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Easy Setup, Easy to Keep Clean, Easy To Use, Great Picture Quality
Summary: This camera is worth it if you can get it cheap. Originally, I needed to replace my Olympus camera and wanted a less expensive in-between camera that could do the job until I bought another Olympus. I heard good things about the Coolpix and Nikon is a good name so what could I lose?
Summary: I recently purchased an L18 for my 30 year-old son who knows nothing about photography. He simply wanted an easy to use digital camera. Having been involved in photography for the past 40 years, I've used everything from Leica M's to current Nikon DSLRs and everything in between.
