Summary: Camera has been very well cared for, but had an electronic problem after a couple of months. An IMAGE of a crack showed up on the screen. Sent camera to the Nikon service dept, and was told warranty was invalid b/c they thought the damage was due to a high impact.
Ordered for Refurbished but received the one which looks like USED.

Summary: I have Ordered for Refurbished camera but received the one which has lot of scratches on it and looks like USED for several days by someone!!! The scratches are all over the camera and even the letters on the buttons were disappeared.
Summary: This camera was a decent camera with fairly good picture quality until like in many other reviews I have read, it breaks. I too got the lens error after no apparent reason. I packed it up and sent it to Nikon and was informed that it appeared to have user damage.
Summary: It is very common for this camera to break with a "lens error." I had it for only two months, and it was not dropped. One day, I went to turn it on and it said "lens error." After researching this error for this camera, it turns out that this happens frequently with this model.
Summary: Nikon has lost my loyalty with this camera; horrible customer service. The camera lasted all of 5 months with a maximum of 2 hours of use then a battery change resulted in "lens error." Nikon claims that there was "lens impact" as reason for not repairing under warranty.
Summary: I bought my camera in November 2008. It is now May 2009. I have probably used my camera a total of 2 hours since purchasing it. During that 2 hours of operation, I have gone through countless pairs of batteries--I think many may believe I am exagerating how many batteries this camera has eaten...
Summary: I bought this camera for its size. I found its menus counter intuitive. It ran through the first batteries after 10 pictures. It had trouble focusing. It was slow take the picture. After 6 weeks, the lens cover refused to close.
