Summary: Good camera but too big for my needs. Also, I don't like having to buy expensive batteries for it. I "downgraded" to a waterproof Lumix that fits in my pocket and has a rechargeable battery and, for me at least, there is no difference in the quality of pictures but it's much more convenient to use so therefore I'm taking more pictures.
Summary: Don't let the SLR look of it fool you to think it's an interchangeable lens camera! As a noob in the photography industry I thought that this was going to be the best camera ever! lol I was wrong! although I cannot complain. This camera is way too much for the things that it does! You can pay a buck more ($100) to get a professional one.
Summary: This camera has a lot of features and takes very good close ups. The auto focus works well except when zooming and especially when zooming in the video mode. Portraits are also very rich with good color and contrast, even in the auto mode. Battery life seems to be fair. I use regular batteries as none of the rechargeable batteries seem to hold up as well. This camera replaced a Kodak digital camera.
Summary: This camera is amazing for the price. I've had issues with the camera focusing correctly sometimes. It usually has to due with the auto focus. If you change the lighting it normally fixes it. But beyond that, this camera takes amazing pictures. It is easy to use, I use the auto function mostly, but has plenty of options if wanted.
Summary: I have bought this Camera because I love photography and started with the regular automatic small cameras, but wanted something else. This camera is awesome and featured with a lot of different options to have the best of your pictures. I would like to have better zoom to reach better angles of nature (I live in Costa Rica) and animals. I am very happy with my camera and now my pictures are getting better and better. Now, I want more... but still will remain with Nikon.
Summary: Although I do a considerable amount of commercial work (or perhaps because I do!), when I'm out for the day with family or traveling, I want a camera that takes decent stills and video, has good zoom, a reasonably small form factor, and "just-take-the-shot" performance features. This camera does the job, and incidentally does fantastic close-ups. I mean really close-up.
