Summary: I've had this camera for three years and it's my favorite. It takes beautiful photos -- and I'm not one who wants to fiddle with the camera by changing settings, etc. It is a little heavy so two years ago I bought a Canon Powershot SX 260 HS which was well reviewed (one site named it travel camera of the year). The Canon is smaller and lighter, but I prefer the Nikon for the most part. I've taken this on at least four overseas trips and just love the photos.
Summary: Good camera but too big for my needs. Also, I don't like having to buy expensive batteries for it. I "downgraded" to a waterproof Lumix that fits in my pocket and has a rechargeable battery and, for me at least, there is no difference in the quality of pictures but it's much more convenient to use so therefore I'm taking more pictures.
Summary: My wife has wanted a decent camera for a long time. She's not a professional photographer, but she was sick and tired of the shoddy pictures her low-end digital cameras always gave her. She was nervous about getting a pro camera that she wouldn't know how to handle. Can't take great pictures if you can't figure the darn thing out. I did a quick google search and found this camera. It is the PERFECT mix of professional, and amateur.
Summary: Don't let the SLR look of it fool you to think it's an interchangeable lens camera! As a noob in the photography industry I thought that this was going to be the best camera ever! lol I was wrong! although I cannot complain. This camera is way too much for the things that it does! You can pay a buck more ($100) to get a professional one.
Summary: best camera I've owned, photos are super and the video is so nice, I covered a local house fire and you can see all the way back in the upper bed room windows super clear in the video, channel 6 news was there and I shot video of everybody it was super. Tracie Bobb, Philadelphia, Pa.
Summary: This is my everyday camera. I take it Kayaking, hiking, and all my everyday adventures. It takes amazing pictures. I love the anti vibration which is essential in telephoto shots. It takes low light pictures that turn out great. The sport mode is just the ticket for taking pictures of birds in flight, I took one of a dolphin leaping out of the water I couldn't have captured otherwise.
Summary: This camera has a lot of features and takes very good close ups. The auto focus works well except when zooming and especially when zooming in the video mode. Portraits are also very rich with good color and contrast, even in the auto mode. Battery life seems to be fair. I use regular batteries as none of the rechargeable batteries seem to hold up as well. This camera replaced a Kodak digital camera.
Summary: Really love this camera, takes beautiful pictures. Very user friendly. If you use the zoom, the subject has to be still or its blurry. I definitely would buy another one if something happens to this one.
