Excerpt: I'm used to an old Nikkormat SLR, and I wanted to photograph birds. It does okay sometimes, but you just can't focus a digital like you can an SLR. I can get close...which is a plus, and the pics generally look authentic, but a lot of them are fuzzy, and it bothers me when I get one chance at someting and it's a fuzzy mess because I didn't adjust the settings properly.
Excerpt: I've been waiting a really nice camera for awhile. I had originally wanted an SLR, but with 4 little kids in the house, I thought it would always be in the repair shop. The point and shoot cameras were too small to find in a big daiper bag, and felt that they would not really work for us either. So when we say this camera, we thought it would be perfect. The feel of the camera in your hands is great.
Excerpt: My husband bought me this camera as a surprise gift last summer. I had been saying for a long time that I wanted a camera that would help make the shots I was taking of our son look like I actually knew what I was doing. I am apparently even more camera hopeless than even this camera can help. Sometimes the camera takes too long to snap a picture. I find this very frustrating at times when I have wanted to take a quick picture of my toddler.
Pros: First and foremost, "Cheap." Big monitor, every once in the while takes an exceptional shot... runs on AAs. Connects to PC seamlessly as a drive.
Cons: Consistently refuses to take good pictures. Slow focus with eternal hunting. Zero manual control over camera settings outside of preset modes, and the preset modes invariably take a bad shot the first 3-5 tries (usually until you fix the poor flash preset
Pros: -Great outdoor pictures. -Great video recording. -Great close up pictures. -Nice wide lense.
Cons: -No rechargeable batteries. Eats up 4x AA batteries quickly. -Flash is very bright therefore had to play with settings to get the right balance. -Takes terrible pictures unless you use the flash. -A little bulky & heavy for a point & shoot.
Cons: Two things: Batteries in the same place with cf card. Open lid to remove card, batteries fall out. Lid is flimsy. 2) When I release auto zoom lever, focus changes a little. Almost impossible to get it right on the button.
