Summary: It looks great, and I think the red color got me more then anything else. Takes nice pictures outside but inside at sporting events the pictures didn't come out that great at all which was the main purpose for this camera for me. Videos are actually pretty good. ALso pictures inside at kids concerts don't come out very good either. Was hoping I could get some good inside pictures with this, but does take good outside pictures.
Excerpt: I'm used to an old Nikkormat SLR, and I wanted to photograph birds. It does okay sometimes, but you just can't focus a digital like you can an SLR. I can get close...which is a plus, and the pics generally look authentic, but a lot of them are fuzzy, and it bothers me when I get one chance at someting and it's a fuzzy mess because I didn't adjust the settings properly.
Excerpt: I've been waiting a really nice camera for awhile. I had originally wanted an SLR, but with 4 little kids in the house, I thought it would always be in the repair shop. The point and shoot cameras were too small to find in a big daiper bag, and felt that they would not really work for us either. So when we say this camera, we thought it would be perfect. The feel of the camera in your hands is great. Sturdy and easy to hold. The scene options that they offer have...
Excerpt: My husband bought me this camera as a surprise gift last summer. I had been saying for a long time that I wanted a camera that would help make the shots I was taking of our son look like I actually knew what I was doing. I am apparently even more camera hopeless than even this camera can help. Sometimes the camera takes too long to snap a picture. I find this very frustrating at times when I have wanted to take a quick picture of my toddler.
Pros: First and foremost, "Cheap." Big monitor, every once in the while takes an exceptional shot... runs on AAs. Connects to PC seamlessly as a drive.
Cons: Consistently refuses to take good pictures. Slow focus with eternal hunting. Zero manual control over camera settings outside of preset modes, and the preset modes invariably take a bad shot the first 3-5 tries (usually until you fix the poor flash preset
Summary: I have been using this camera for about 6 months now and have very mixed feelings about it. The zoom on it is amazing and I have captured some awesome shots of wildlife, etc. I have also taken some beautiful close-up photos of flowers, etc. that are just gorgeous. The thing that I am really having a lot of problems with are just the basic photos of everyday life when inside the house, etc. I take a lot of photos of my family, friends, animals, etc.
Summary: This is a nice looking middle of the line product. Its pretty easy to use. Zoom is of nice range. A couple of issues I have with this camera. It requires pretty good illumination fot it to take bright pictures. If the room is a little dark, the LCD starts grainy and pictures comes out less bright (yellowish) Flash is manually operated which is a hassle if you in a time senstive moment. Video quality is decent. Although not at par with other HD recorders.
