The Nikon Coolpix L110 is a winner for the price. While image quality perhaps isn't its sweetest spot, there's no denying that an easy to use point-and-shoot with a 15x optical zoom for under £200 is a decent buy. The AA battery power may be an off-put for some, yet a reason to purchase for others. Certainly not the smallest of cameras for those looking for a true ‘compact' compact, but the L110 does pack in a big lens, is well designed and easy to use. Read more

Remember my earlier Porsche/Ford analogy? The Nikon Coolpix P100 is such a superior camera to the L110, it's ridiculous. I know there's a $100 price differential but this is one C-note well worth spending. Read my Nikon P100 review and you'll understand why it's a Dave's Pick, while the L110 does not quite rise that exalted position. My biggest gripe is the incredible slowness of the Nikon L110. . The Coolpix L110 offers a 15x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens, and 720p video recording. Absent are most manual controls and external features. Instead, the Nikon Coolpix L110 seemed like just another average 12-megapixel budget Super Zoom in this price range. In fact, the distance between the Nikon Coolpix L110 and Nikon Coolpix P100 rivals the Delaware Water Gap. Read more

The Nikon Coolpix L110 offers the versatility of a 15x zoom lens with the convenience of a point-and-shoot camera. The lens spans 28 mm to 420 mm and one-ups many compacts with its ability to zoom in and out in movie mode. Rod Lawton at CNET Asia says it "performs well across the whole range," and Cliff Smith at TrustedReviews.com notes "very effective" sensor shift stabilization. Read more

The Nikon L110 would be perfectly adequate for beginners looking for a simple, easy-to-use camera. However, other cameras can do much better than this, even if you never bother touching their more advanced manual settings. Read more

It’s really pretty amazing what Nikon is able to offer on the Coolpix L110. For the same MSRP as 2009′s L100 ($279.95), Nikon retains that model’s wide-angle lens with 15x zoom and sensor-shift image stabilization, but increases the camera resolution from 10 to 12 megapixels and the 3-inch LCD resolution from 230K dots to 460K; added a 720p movie mode, a built-in stereo microphone, and HDMI output; added use of the optical zoom and autofocus while shooting video;... So, for Christmas I received what I wanted and couldn’t be more pleased . . . the Nikon CoolPix L110 Digital Camera. This camera is loaded with features! I can snap pictures in an instant and see them on the 3.0” high-resolution HVGA LCD color display. The colors really POP! I have the option to delete any photo I take. I have 15 scene modes and 5 color options to choose from. Read more

The CoolPix L110 is a low-cost superzoom from Nikon’s “L” line of consumer shooters, and while its 15x zoom is attractive, the camera’s other features are somewhat limited. For users with modest needs, the 12-megapixel L110 offers straightforward photography at a good price, but advanced shooters will quickly outgrow the L110’s minimal feature set. Read more

The bad reviews that are being left about this camera is from users that don't know how to choose the correct settings. I have kids in various activities and the the quality I got from my old camera just wasn't good enough to send to distant family. It was hard to tell WHO was in the video! I needed a small camera that would take videos and stills with continuous shooting mode. Also very important was the fact that it takes regular batteries so I always have spares. The camera has preformed very well on my railroad photos and videos with everything being very sharp. I had to tone down the sound with a piece of foam on the mikes which worked great. Read more

My first issue is when ever i use the zoom , the camera freezes. It wont come back , so i have to remove the batteries and restart the camera . IT is getting very annoying . Well the clarity is good. The auto mode is fine. And it still need the tripod to get the pics without shake. Read more

A full charge on the battery provides up to 250 shots. The Nikon CoolPix L110 measures 114.4 x 82.7 x 98.6 mm (4.5 x 3.3 x 3.9 in.) and weighs approximately 481 g (17.0 oz.) with battery and SD memory card.

Features

The Nikon CoolPix L110 features a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers a focal range of wide-angle 26mm through super-telephoto 678mm (35mm format equivalent). Users can also focus as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.) to the lens in macro shooting. It is powered by a CMOS image sensor with backside illumination structure, Backlit Scene HDR (high dynamic range) mode, which optimizes continuous shooting technologies, and an advanced Night Landscape scene mode. The CMOS sensor enables capture of images with less noise at the high sensitivities required for night landscapes and pictures taken indoors under dim lighting. The Backlit Scene HDR scene mode combines multiple images captured with continuous shooting to create an image with a broader dynamic range with less loss of detail in highlights and shadows, even when the subject is backlit. Other features on the camera include a Night Landscape mode which automatically captures several images and then combines the images to create a single optimized photo for night shots; high-speed continuous shooting functions that enable continuous shooting of images at the maximum size (10 MP) at 10 fps and sport continuous mode, which allows for continuous shooting at up to approximately 120 fps; Full HD movie recording and playback functions (at 1080p:1920 x 1080); HDMI connector that enables users to view movies recorded with the camera on a high-definition TV; image-sensor shift vibration reduction which compensates for camera shake by moving the image sensor in the direction that negates camera shake and rectifying the shift from the optical axis; image-sensor shift vibration reduction which reduce the effects of camera shake and an electronic vibration reduction performed with recording which further reduces blur; Motion detection; BSS (best shot selector) which automatically shoots a series of sequential frames and saves the one with the sharpest focus; smart portrait system which combines functions such as skin softening function that smoothes facial skin tones and continuing with face-priority AF, the smile timer, the blink proof function, the blink warning, and red-eye reduction function.
