Summary: I got this and I was very excited, I tried it out around the house and I noticed immediately that the focus was a little out of whack. I thought it was settings, I did what I could to readjust the settings and the focus to get a good picture. It's great for outdoors, the pictures that I took in the daylight were great... unfortunately I cannot keep a camera that will only work properly in the sunlight.
Summary: I ordered this camera in Nov 2010 and I loved it! I only used it a handful of times but found it easy to use. In July 2011, I turned on the camera and got a "battery exhausted" error message. So, I changed the batteries. Still got the error message. I changed the batteries again...and again...and again. I changed brands, changed types, etc. Still have the error message.
Summary: Great mid priced cameras takes awesome photos. Some of the settings are a little different than what I am used to. Once you learn the menu system though, it goes back up to 5 stars. This camera can go around your neck or in a bag. Not as easy to put in your pocket. but I didn't buy it for portability.
Summary: Don't waste your money on this! I have had this camera for 1 year, (got it for last year's xmas pictures). When I first received the camera, I loved it...after a couple of months, it's quality faltered and now its worthless! (Yes, I know how to operate it, read the book, took photo in collage). Indoor pictures are ALWAYS yellow no matter what setting you put it on and most are fuzzy.
Summary: Ever since seeing years ago a nearly $1000 Sony made camera similar in design to this one I have wanted a camera like this. I used to do freelance photography at college and have been a fan of Nikon cameras since the original FM. This Nikon camera has a tremendous zoom range and sells for around $200. Hard to believe it's been superseded already by another similar model, but such is life in the digital camera world these days.
Summary: I was looking for a camera for my wife's Christmas present. We've only ever owned the traditional lower end cameras and were looking to branch into something with more professional capabilities. This camera was a great introductory model. It is very easy to use (given a little effort of course) and the price is unbeatable for the feature set.
