Nikon Coolpix AW120 Digital Camera Review

Buy-n-Shoot.com
16 July 2014
  • Excerpt: As a young child the bedroom was the perfect place for activities. Wether it be colouring, puzzles, lego or crafts, one thing remains constant: space. You need space for activities. No space means a struggle to compete with the task at hand. It’s no different in the adult world, when your activities upgrade to that of rock climbing, surfing and mountain biking the fact still remains the same: You  need space.

Nikon Coolpix AW120 review

  • Conclusion: When it comes to image quality, there are cameras that will perform better than the AW120. It’s an easy, basic camera that takes good photos that will satisfy its intended user. However, there are smartphones that take photos that are just as good. But what’s appealing here are the rugged features. Being able to take it into a pool or ocean, or into the rain, is a unique feature that makes it a standout.
  • Pros: Terrific all-rugged body, Wi-Fi, GPS, built-in maps, Simple to operate
  • Cons: Basic point-and-shoot quality, No non-automatic modes, Mic picks up lens movement noise, Stiff buttons

  • Conclusion: Photos taken underwater benefit from the wide aperture, but a flash is still often needed. Its usability is again hampered by the small controls, but the textured surface on the shutter button helps maintain grip.

Nikon Coolpix AW120 review

Stuff.tv
14 August 2014
  • Summary: A replacement for last year’s AW110 (which we liked very much ), the Nikon Coolpix AW120 is a rugged, all-weather compact camera designed to be as comfortable documenting your extreme outdoor exploits as it is snapping photos of a condensation-covered cocktail glass or your cat asleep in an amusing pose.
  • Pros: (Mostly) good picture and video, Almost indestructible, Compact and light
  • Cons: Occasional metering issues, Near-unusable Wi-Fi
