Summary: I first bought this Nikon Coolpix in the 1990's for (get this) $826.00. Digitals for the novice were just getting some attention. At the same time I bought one of the first HP Photosmart printers. The combo of these two were a big wakeup for someone who loved 35mm. I took thousands of pics with the coolpix and printed that still look great. However, one night a friends' child knocked my camera off the counter and broke the lense.
Fantastic older Nikon Digital Camera for amazing macro photos!

Summary: This is a fabulous Camera, I actually bought the same one 10 years ago, and am still using it on my site! I purchased this one as backup, should my old one finally die. I love the quality of the photos, the macro lens in the best for close up and Nikon is the best camera maker in my opinion. You really can't go wrong with this older model, and I got it for a real steal!
A nice solid digital camera-nice pics-ease of use.

Summary: This one will get you started! Very nice pics for a 2 MP camera. A perfect camera for starting out or as a reliable spare. Too large for a pocket unless you have a coat with big pockets. If you're not concerned with extra large sized photos than this is the one for you! I also have the 880 which has more "bells and whistles" but keep this one as a spare. For the money, you can't buy a better 2 MP camera!
Summary: I purchased a Nikon Coolpix 800 back in 1999. It was my first camera, and I used it as often as possible. It was a very decent "point and shoot" camera, and I was also able to add a screw-on wide-angle lens that increased the productivity of the camera. I eventually upgraded six years later for a Nikon D70, but the Coolpix 800 still has some great memories for me.
Summary: Although an older Camera by Nikon, it has included many of the more expensive aspects, expected fron Nikon! The only thing was a poor (Battery Door Cover).. being made from plastic, has a tendency to break!
Summary: This was bought as a replacement for the same model camera that we flat wore out. It is for sure not at even the mid point of today's technology, but it is a nice solid camera for general purpose use. I also own a far more sophisticated Nikon for my more demanding use. But, if 2 megapixel images meet your needs, this little camera is reliable and easy to use. Just be careful to not spend too much for it as fancier cameras are getting pretty cheap these days.
