Summary: After my last Nikon, which I really liked, had some problems with the zoom lens opening, I set out to find another camera. I really don't like change, so I looked for another Nikon with which I could use my rechargeable ion batteries and SD card. I chose the Nikon 5200. Bad choice.
Summary: I really wanted to love this camera - but alas, it was not to be. The ability to capture video with sound at VGA was a real big selling point for me, but of course, it is primarily a still camera....which is where it falls terribly short.
Summary: Bought this and the new SONY P100 yesterday and compared both in detail. We took the same shot on both and had both developed at a Professional photo lab so the prints would be able to be compared. The Nikon felt awesome in the hand, Turned on fast and did almost everything right.
Summary: WELL I HAVE OWNED THIS CAMERA FOR AROUND A YEAR AND A HALF! THE CAMERA ITS SELF IS NOW QUITE SCRATCHED AND DOESNT ZOOM BECAUSE OF INCIDENTS WHEN I'VE DROPPED IT , WELL IT ZOOMS OUT BUT NOT IN AS WHEN I DROPPED IN IT WRECKED THE ZOOM IN BOTTON ANY WAYS THE CAMERA ITS SELF STILL WORKS AND IS STILL...
Summary: Do not entertain even thinking of purchasing this or any other Nikon Product. My Coolpix is just 14 months old and has gone wrong. Nikon want a total of £75 to fix it. the camera only cost £180. Their aftercare service absolutely sucks. Avoid ALL NIKON porducts. Buy at your own risk.
