Great pictures, small package

After Hours, B&H Photo
9 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I just have spent a few days with this camera, and I love it. I wanted a small camera, and with the 10-30 zoom and with none of the accessories it measures 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 2 3/8"--small enough to fit in a windbreaker pocket, if you don't mind the bulge and the sag.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Small / Compact
  • Cons: EXPENSIVE

This rocks.... I had a D80 ...

Jorge L. Berges, Amazon
9 May 2015
  • Summary: This rocks....I had a D80 (bigger SLR although entry level) for 10 years, I moved to this one looking portability with powerful features. Only highlight is night shots, colours (specially people skin) and definition need to improve...maybe camera settings that I have to work on.

Super Fast and Accurate Autofocus

Briarcliff Baron, B&H Photo
9 April 2015
  • Excerpt: This is a follow up to my previous review. Again, this camera EXCELS with daylight high-action situations. The kit lens was fine, but I wanted more reach, and wanted one lens that I could pretty much leave on the camera.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Color Rendition, Small / Compact, Super-fast Autofocus
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light

A Veru God System Camera

BRSac, B&H Photo
2 April 2015
  • Excerpt: I was a Nikon 1 fan within the first hour of using a J1. I operate the camera with my right hand and cradle the lens barrel in my left hand, just as I have always done with SLR cameras. I really like the traditional interchangeable lenses with hoods, filter threads, and mechanical zooming.

It's a heavyweight in a lightweight body.

Mike Iacono, Amazon
6 March 2015
  • Summary: Best purchase in the last 10 years. Great Resolution, great controls, fairly quick at the shutter button. Optics made for this camera are a joy. 10-30 zoom is battery hog. I just added the long zoom lens - and it is great for hikes and nature photography.

A Good Tool with Limitations

Briarcliff Baron, B&H Photo
2 March 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought the 1V3 for the frames-per-second rate, for catching action-sports type shots, birds-in-flight type shots - that sort of thing. After playing with the camera for about two months, these observations: First, the fps rate will capture stuff that you just can't catch otherwise.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Battery Life, Small / Compact
  • Cons: Poor Image Quality, Poor in Low Light

The V3 is a beast!

El_Andino "Salty", Amazon
13 February 2015
  • Summary: Disclaimer: I am by NO means a professional photographer. I'm not great with technical camera terms either- so there'll be none of that in this review. I'm just simply a guy who likes to shoot photos... now on with it. The V3 is my second Nikon camera (my first being a D-90).

First Nikon and Glad...

Allan L. Wilson, Amazon
4 February 2015
  • Summary: Beautiful pictures and no noise at ISO-800. Wish it came with the manual zoom 10-30mm. That way filters would interchange with the 30-100.
